Been on a couple of dates with a plate I met online. Smashed a few times. No social connections but would feel bad just ghosting her as she seems to be a decent person and clearly wants a boyfriend.

Starting a masters and running a business at the same time so just don't have the capacity for more than one plate at the moment and she doesn't make the cut.

Best way to let this one down gently? Would like to have the option to hook up again if I ever have the availability months from now.

my two instinctive ideas are

1. try telling her the truth as you wrote it here

2. hire her, then use the expected employment standards as your excuse to cool it.

If she's still attracted she'll give it up again when you're available because she'll be available(nearby)

Just tell her you are going through life changing events right now, which you are and that you'd rather concentrate on that and not have any distractions. Tell them that you think it would be unfair to place them really low in the priority list as that would be disrespectful and would rather try to reconnect at a later time if both of you are still single.

Tell her that you're not looking for a relationship and just keep seeing her one day a week to smash. Tell her that you're busy the rest of the time.
