Wanted to look into taking Ice Skating lessons, just something cool to learn. Somebody told me I should start with roller blading first instead of going fresh into Ice Skating. Thoughts?

Yep it’s true. I started with roller blading the summer before my freshman year of high school. By the time hockey season started I was able to play.

I'm just gonna be sure to buy knee pads, elbow pads , a helmet and some gloves.

I never used any of that but it would have been smarter if I had. Are you planning on playing hockey?

No, not at this point. Just a skill I would like to know.
It's a lot of fun. My best advice is don't go cheap on buying a pair of skates. Make sure you feel perfectly comfortable in them and that the skates have strong ankle support. If you go to an ice rink and rent skates before you buy, buy some hockey tape and tape up your ankles to increase your support. Rental skates SUCK. But if you do wear them buying a $2.00 role of hockey tape will make them tolerable for the night. Good luck.
