Other than just tapering off, are there any supplements are tricks you guys know of? I drink way to much coffee every day, plus energy drinks sometimes. I'm exhausted all the time. I smoke to many ciggerattes. I really need to cut this stuff out of my life but it's difficult because I just quit taking kratom again, I've quite drinking, quit cocaine, all I have left is copious amounts of caffeine and about a pack of cigs a day.

I wish I could get my hands on some chantix because not only did that make me quit using nicotine, I could barely handle a few sips of coffee and I simply didn't want more of it.

How was your body's reaction to kratom? Did you experience any hair loss? I've heard it can cause your immune system to over-react since it's an immunostimulant.

Try some guarana powder and mix it with fresh juice. Guarana gives you a clearer head and doesn't kick in as fast as coffee does. Although guarana also contains caffeine, your body absorbs it slower due to its high amounts of tannins - this leads to longer periods of feeling energized and less caffeine crashes. You could also try green tea. It's rich in antioxidants, theanine and also supplies you with caffeine/theine. The theanine in green tea will help you calm down and fight off stress.

Kratom, well I started off on an oz a day right away. I used to take 4oz a day and it made me skinny, tired all the time, emotional, especially irritable. Kratom makes me feel very anxious. Of course still euphoria. Like feeling good, depressed and angry all at the same time. Manic.

With kratom I want to take more within a few hours. If I've been on it for a long time, and I stop taking, I can't sleep for a few days, i sweat, feel cold feel hot, extreme depression, and the lethargy can last a week or two, maybe more. I also get extremely restless for the first 3 to 5 days of quitting, i roll like a log in bed and get so frustrated I just get up and even pace sometimes.

Unless you have extreme discipline with it and don't it more than two days in a row, it's going to mess you up. It affects some of your opioid receptors and serotonin, so the withdrawals are very similar to opioids crossed with ssri withdrawal.

The benefits aren't worth it unless you're in extreme pain.

Infact for me personally, quiting crack and alcohol are way easier than kratom or other opioids.

What happens with any type of opioid is that you will literally need to to function. It's not worth it. Also phenibut withdrawals are terrible, as bad if not worse than benzo withdrawals.

Quitting caffeine is an excellent goal. It's been a challenge for me.

I went from 2 cups a day to drinking half caff keurigs. So went from about 200mg of caffeine to 50 mg. Major difference in sleep and how relaxed I am. Cuts out anxiety big time. I drink more decaff now which seems to trick my mind or something in to thinking it's getting its fix.

I quit caffeine once. Cold turkey. Had leg cramps and headaches. Took Aleve.

Decided a few months later that I generally felt better with caffeine. Conscious decision. Not a caving in to a craving.

I can say drinking only one caffeinated coffee a day now changes the type of fatigue after a full day.
Thank goodness I've upped my protein intake, cardio and lifting to compensate.

Don't ask me how many decafs I have now.

Only 2 headaches in this past 3 weeks of withdrawing slowly. 3 more weeks to go.

Green tea works if you need the energy.
I am currently under medication and can't drink coffee. I gave it a try without coffee, tea or anything.
I'm a bit tired at 11 pm, but that's usually when I get in bed. Sleep has been a lot better lately.
I might just drink a coffee once in a while for the taste after I finish with the medication.

I am addicted to caffeine. (Aren’t most of us?)

when I ween the habit I limit to 1 small cup per day and replace the other cups with green tea which has much less caffeine and more healthy stuff in it.
Green tea actually gets my metabolism going. I get a sweat like 15 minutes later.

42 days off caffeine... no supplements or nothing to help with that. Just cold turkey.

Caffeine is the worst drug I ever been addicted too. Also, tried supplements in some past tries to cut it like teacrine and some other stimulants. It doesn't worth at all.

If you are going to quit, be as natural as you can. The first 20 days will be like hell or it can be even more, based on how long you've been using it. The more you use, the more the withdrawal lasts.

But when those bad side effects are gone, it worth way more than everything you experienced. Our body can give us a great amount of energy... We just need to give it the right fuel.

Drugs, foods... It all matters when we talk about energy levels.

One more thing: people you stay arround. It can mess with your energy. I'm just experiencing it this week... it messed up with me. And I really believe that we are all energy, and the environment and people around can influence that and this can have a huge impact on your life and even on your behaviors.

I think you're doing awesome and thanks for the info that it will take 20 days of no coffee before I start to feel better....
that will be before Halloween I will feel better keeping to the reduction schedule I set for myself.
Remember it can take 6 months or more to feel completely normal again.

I've been off caffeine dependency for over two years with the exceptions of a coke, coffee, or tea on rare occasions.

A certain level of caffeine is ok and is actually good for weight loss but too much actually has been shown to affect your testosterone levels.

If you're a regular coffee drinker though, it's better to have it in the mornings when your cortisol levels are generally at the highest.

I just choose to not let any addictions run my life but I don't see any issues with it in moderation just like anything else.

I just went on a caffeine detox last week and it sucked, but was not unbearable. I think quitting alcohol and cigarettes was far far worse. When it comes to quitting anything, I believe in cold turkey. I don't believe in tapering off anything because I believe it just prolongs the pain. I'd rather just get it over with. After about 3-5 days of zero caffeine, the headaches stopped and I felt pretty "normal".

Ive done my 12 steps of N.A for drugs and alcohol

Im also now attempting caffeine, i can easily drink 5 coffees and 10 diet cokes on a saturday.

its even more difficult to quit, as it didnt destroy me like booze! Apart from some agitation if i drink to much.

I know for sure my bones crack, and gout flares up if i drink to much, and i roll my tongue.

trying again today

cant stand tea and fanta thats the problem

It looks, smells and tastes like reg coffee.
It's almost like nothing has changed....lifestyle-wise.

Find its closest looking replacement that's somewhat safer and healthier and a body can absolutely kick any addiction...any.

agree it can be kicked but sometimes abstaining fully from any kind of replica is the other alternative

that would be superstrong of me. One day I will accomplish this.

Ask myself why I like the periodic cups of hot water?? What's it doing for me?

I just consume sometimes 1,000 mg of caffeine throughout the day. But really I'm just trying to not drink, smoke crack or use kratom right now. It's just that that much caffeine makes me feel like sh1t but I'll just keep consuming it anyways. I'll drink 3 12oz coffees first thing in the morning, then a couple energy drinks with 300mg of caffeine and maybe more later. It's just a bit ridiculous.
