Have you guys run into this in your area? In my neck of the woods people are encouraged to pay with card, or better yet, pay with no-contact forms of payment like using your smartphone.....

Will paper currency no longer exist in our post-COVID19 world.....?????....

E-wallet is already popular, it saves time going to the bank for both merchants and consumers and thus increases productivity or quality time better spent elsewhere.

It has nothing to do with covid 19.

Thats the wet dream of financial institutions and leftist governments, people with no solid cash in their hands that can be hidden or used outside their control.

Electronic payments only so just like youtube or patreon they cant shut you off the same moment they disagree with your lifestyle.

European lefists are already talking about the health risks of cash, their small tiny c0cks always manage to get hard when citizens freedom can be limited in any way.

COVID-19 is being used an excuse to upend everything. The 1918 pandemic was more deadly and less disruptive to everyday life. We're just a bunch of pansies now.

The video says the coin shortage should be resolved soon and especially when the economy re-opens. Up here in Canada there is no coin shortage. I just go to the ATM and never had an issue there. Don't like dealing with cash since I usually have to wipe down each bill with disinfectant, handle money with gloves, or enter a bank with gloves and mask. Electronic is easier with me since I just have to hand sanitize spray one credit card. Our Covid19 rates are very low compared to the USA because we follow the science and adjust accordingly.

Coins though? You're not exactly a baller if you're worried about pennies.

But you can always switch to crypto. Even better than cash - gov't can't take its cut from currency exchange.
I already know how to use btc, eth and xmr yet 99% people cant...you cant pay your electricians with btc now.

They take away coins for people to get used then they move to banknotes, if you remember they started banning the 500EU banknotes cause it was the most used from people to accumulate cash.

They said "drug traffickers" used it therefore they put it on the black list forcing those who had them to hit the banks.

Millions of people died in the 3-year 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. That’s something we are trying to avoid repeating. Are you suggesting we not heed lessons from it?

I've been seeing people posting this all over social media the past month. It's causing them all to panic with the digital currency, mark of the beast talk. I haven't seen a single sign yet saying there is a paper money shortage. To me I think its due to so many business's being closed, which slowed the flow of money changing hands. Seen people report those stores are encouraging shoppers to round up and donate to BLM or some other bs organization. I haven't seen this issue in my area yet.

They claim shortage, but I have yet to find a cashier who couldn't give me correct change down to the cent.

If there is a "shortage," where did all the change actually go*?

It's understandable that a slow or nearly closed business might not have bothered to go to the bank, and therefore, they let their change supply get depleted. Did reopening create a sudden overwhelming demand for change as businesses tried to restock their cash registers?

*I completely agree with the others that this is more about trying to make us go cash-less. Just asking for discussion purposes.

Supposedly change is just sitting around because of the partially closed economy and not circulating. It is probably in the vending machines still turned off.

This coin shortage is really stifling my efforts in collecting real copper pennies. I guess I'll pop back in a CD to listen to in the meanwhile...
