I met up with a few old school buddies for new years and Jesus Christ, these guys are the same age as me and they all were so out of shape and had let themselves go so badly. Forget dad bod, these guys were skinnyfat, had no style, I felt bad for them, I tried to have a good time and gee them up to get out there, but it was like they had given up on life, just talking about work etc.

I was grafting a 20 year old and they were standing in the corner complaining about being "too old" to be at a house party. I ended up taking them to a pool hall for a few "quiet ones" on new years...

Guys, don't jack it in before your time. There will come a time where no matter how much gym time you put in and how tight your game is, it WILL be more difficult to score too quality women, but that time sure as hell isn't in your early 30s.

This is true. I've been lifting consistently since June of this year as part of my renewed focus on health. I was at an open bar NYE's party two nights ago and looked around and realized the crowd was really young. Like people in their 20's. I thought I might have been at the wrong party because of the demographic of the people. However, I took off my jacket and got immediately body bumped by two 20 something year old chicks. I looked around and I realized I was the only guy who looked like he lifts, lol.

Guys are talking about how there is so much more competition now than ever before because of social media. I've experienced the exact opposite. 90% of guys on social media and real life are supplicating cucks. The bars/club scene are full of spam approach bots that reek of desperation. And I usually only run into a handful of guys who look like they work out/have a cool non desperate vibe.

It has never been easier to be the leading man of the movie.

It's not all doom and gloom sosuavers. Get your a$$ up and get to work.
Majority of 20 year old chicks will take the 35 year old who lifts and has a good pysique over the 20 year old skinnyfat dudes in the club, especially after a few drinks. I get you on the feeling older thing but it's mostly in our heads.

I really only joined because Stormrider's posts resonated with me. Got me through a serious case of One-nitis. But I feel like responding to this thread because the posters so far have all echoed how I feel.

I usually utilize January as the month in which I'd take a break from lifting because that's when gym attendance tends to peak to the point where it is far too packed for my taste. And then the slow decline in the coming weeks from the "New Years Resolution" crew. But this time, I decided to continue due to toying with the idea of possibly doing another bodybuilding show in a few months. I've been bodybuilding for 19 years and I finally did a show last year as a way to pay respect to my best friend who passed away. I competed at the same show as him to honor his memory. Anyway, what I noticed was that the gym was actually empty. New Years Resolution crew have not been crowding my space.

And in spite of lifting being so much more popular than when I was a teenager, the average person seems to be even more lazy and out of shape than ever before. Not sure if this is due to the misinformation out there or a combination of guys generally being lazier and more weak-minded.

Also, even two weeks ago when I was volunteering at a food pantry and was fully clothed (no tanktop or show offy apparel), the conversation women engaged me in still somehow went back to compliments about my physique. Women certainly take notice when you put the work in. It's not just that you look good, it's that you have discipline, work ethic, and you're about something.

Brilliant Post!

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Why not just buy a home gym and workout at home? Or get a 24 hour gym where you can go late at night or early in the morning.

I did that (worked out at home) when I was in my late teens but as you progress (depending on your goals), there comes a point where you need better equipment and different things otherwise you stagnate. Unless you have a lot of money and can afford to buy it all, it is usually more feasible to shell out the monthly gym fee. Granted, if I spent a good 5-10k I'd probably be able to get everything I need but the time it would take to make that money back versus just paying the monthly fee makes it not worth it for most of us.

As for going late at night or early in the morning, I'd prefer early in the morning but even then, it's packed with the "before work crowd." I don't get good workouts if I go late at night, and the central nervous system simulation makes it difficult to sleep. Everyone is different though, I just know that for me, best workouts are mornings.

The thing that is, everyone knows that being fit and athletic is only a bonus. But yet no one wants to work out lol. I pray that I never see the day where I just give up like that. If anything, I hope to get harder in this. Improvement boys, always.

Probably my main gym motivation. I’m 30 now and I see guys that are only 40 and look f*cking awful. Beer belly’s huge, man boobs, flabby girly hips ..

I want to look good at 40 and 50 while I’m traveling the world, not look like a slob.

This made me depressed just reading it. I aspire never to be like that. Alot of my training partners are older, in their 30/40s and still bag 20 year olds and never feel old.

Those guys just sound like they gave up on life and hate their boring lives
