What would you do differently if you had money to show status?

So, I'm rich. Millionaire. I didn't inherit it, I earned it myself. I have advanced degrees, a high paying career, etc. That said I still drive an average car. I live in an average house well below my means. You'd think with all my money it would be that much easier, but I don't display it so it's not obvious. I do better than most guys but it's still always a numbers game. I'd like to change that.

I've considered buying a luxury car and a Rolex to show my "status" but 1) I hate the idea of blowing money rather than investing it so I can retire at 40 [I can retire now actually because I don't have luxury anything] and 2) I don't know that anything will work better than being famous. A pro athlete, a famous musician, a famous actor will sleep with thousands of women in their lifetime. No game needed. The women just want to say they ****ed him. It's social proof for them.

I crossed a Lambo off my list because despite being able to pay cash, the maintenance is too expensive if I want to retire early (3K an oil change...).

A used Prosche or Mercedez C class is on the list. A Rolex or a Breitling. But somehow I feel like these will not help me in most situations. I meet most women online. If I go to the bar they don't see my Benz until they are going home with me.

Should I just put "self made millionaire" in my OLD profile with a pic of a rented Lambo? lol

I've also fought with this over the years. I don't make anything close to what you do, but I've contemplated blowing my hard-earned money in pursuit of women. I mean, women like guys that blow money. It's a fact of life. Also like you, it's not really in my nature, as I'm mostly a frugal guy.

What always turned me off of the idea was thinking about the caliber of women I'd be attracting. Sure, they may be hot, but they're the type of chick that fvcks a guy because he has money...

In my mind, it would be a lot cheaper to bang high-end escorts than buy a Porsche. You'd be banging the same quality of chick. Probably hotter.

You know, if all you're worried about is a notch count.

I am 38 and with my investments, property and salary I’m creeping up on what was once an exclusive club called the millionaire club. I don’t think I would ever buy sht to show off status. Fact is with inflation and the cost of health care you better hold onto as much of that money as possible unless you want to keep grinding into your 70’s. If you have insane money then by all means go Dan Blizerian if not keep thinking long term... not short term vag.

You just need to work on ur social networking.

I probably more earn more then you but it's not the power of my ATM card that pulls women although it could if I prowl red light districts in Asia and that alone defeats growing ur skill set as a man.

Grow ur sphere of influence, that's the answer to almost any problem.

The bigger ur influence, the more valuable you are. The more valuable you are the more powerful you become. The more powerful you become, the more women will be attracted to you.

I think you're smart doing it the way you are. "The Millionaire Next Door" was a book which describes this sort of living. Better to keep the money for your own security and freedom later on, than to worry about buying trinkets to impress women.

What is it about guys around here and Lambos lol?

I read that book when I was in high school. I heard the interview with the author on the Tom Leykis show...Cash Flow Quadrant and Rich Dad Poor Dad are also good books. But yeah, the typical millionaire lives just like me. Most of the people you see driving luxury cars, including my tenants, can't really afford them. They just want to look rich.

None the less I can afford to buy a few trinkets in cash and it won't put a dent in my net worth. Surely there must be something I can do to elevate my status and not have to use "game" so much.

Well I will say that although I do fine in the one night stands or short term side piece, better than most, I have one thing going for me: I have a high conversion rate from ass to girlfriend. I read an article that talks about how women will sometimes sleep with a guy who is attractive or a bad boy but not settle down with him because he is a loser/has no future/works a low end job, etc.

But they will convert to gf more easily when you have your stuff together. It's rare to be a good looking guy AND have your stuff together and have game to boot.

So basically I have a high conversion rate from ass to gf. But I want more ass. Much more ass. I feel like it's too much of a numbers game.

Most certainly I think you should treat yourself for all your hard work, nothing wrong with bettering your lifestyle if you can afford it.
I'm probably not the best person to ask what to do though, because I think things like Lambos are a waste of money. I like to wear a nice watch, but I think you can get a nice watch without spending $50,000 on it.

I think dressing nicely is probably the best thing you can spend your money on to increase your SMV. If you're going to dress really nice though, you need to have the places to go to wear it, so you would know that best.

PUA gurus tell you that if you have money or have the potential for being a good boyfriend, women won't sleep with you. Because they want to be on their best behavior, and not appear like a slvt. I think this is largely nonsense, but even if it's true I don't think it's a bad thing. Why wouldn't you want a girl to be on her best behavior around you and try to impress you? Worst case scenario, you might have to wait an extra day or two for the lay. Might.

Also, as I've said in a recent thread, I know many "loser" guys who don't support themselves, but get a free ride from their girlfriends. It's very common, from what I've seen. So I don't believe in any hard and fast rules. It's whatever you can carve out for yourself.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

I agree in that I'd rather buy another rental house than buy a Lambo (the cost of a Lambo in cash is a down payment for a house here, I live in one of the most expensive cities in the country). A Rolex, used is about 7K for a submariner. I can get a new Breitling for about 3K. My buddy told me the same thing you told me recently, dollar wise a new wardrobe would net better results. I have noticed when I wear a suit for interviews I get a lot more respect when I go to the store. So maybe you and he are onto something.

I could buy a 2016 C Class Mercedez for 25K which is NOTHING. 37K miles, clean. The issue with a Lambo is they are expensive to maintain, 3K for an oil change, 8K for tires...A Benz may not be as exotic, but it's not a Corolla either.

Dude, broke dudes with game and sex appeal get more ***** than they want. Use those resources to hire a dating coach and get healthy and in top physical condition. If you buy that expensive bull****, buy it for you and then ride the bus when trying to get laid. What get's womens' pussies dripping is your personality and physical appeal.

I worked in federal prisons for 24 years where I watched female officers throw away $70,000+ careers just to **** penitentiary dirtbags who earned $7.20 a month in their prison jobs. They would **** them in cells, in mop closets, under stairwells, in recreation rooms with other thugs watching, in food service warehouses on the bulk beans & rice, in their office, in staff restrooms...

If you're looking to marry, your wealth and status matter. If you just want to ****, it's primal desire that matters. Be fit, confident and have a stiff spine and you'll get all of the ***** you want.

Richy rich, if you want a lux watch, always go Rolex or Patek. Head over to the Rolex Forums to learn about those watches. http://www.rolexforums.com.

Dressing nice is always a plus. Go tailor made to fit for your suits and you'll look sharp. As for the car, think outside the box. Think Audi R8, Lotus Evora, Alfa Romero C4. All sweet cars, which are exotic, but are not too expensive to maintain. Plus, they have the wow factor. If your in Cali, every dude has a Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, etc. Think different. Be different. Profit from it.

Agreed but sadly ain't no one or very few will listen to this.

They rather moan, complain, cry and moan again in Sosuave of all those BPD/NPD/Demonic/Red Flags women that used and abused them repeatedly for years, some here has been moaning about BPD women for 10 years.

The real life examples is right here in Sosuave, take the path of the whiner and you'll end up posting 10 years worth of BPD or you can choose another path and then contribute positively towards uplifting other men as the quoted poster has done.

Dear Missourie,
I read your profile and just thought..."Snap"...We are both reading from the same Hymn Book...I am a little Older than you,75...But having been a millionaire at 34 and probably worth three to four times that now and having retired at 49,perhaps I might support and encourage your Post...Yeah I do have a good House, built it brick on brick myself, and yeah I do have an inherited Gold Rolex,I don't wear it these Days as it doesn't keep very good time LOL...As far as Cars Go,Well I changed over from General Motors to Ford 30 odd years ago and drive a 1987 Falcon Station Wagon...I keep it choofing along myself an Oil Change costs $40 including a filter....My last Ford did,in US Money about half a million miles...though it leaked a bit it went very well, but metal fatigue got it,I still use its cannibalised remains, for parts.....As for my love life,I can truthfully say,I have averaged four or five tricks a week since I was 20.. I can still pick up the phone and negotiate a naughty in half an hour from several different Ladies...My only real indulgence in life is enjoying a glass or three of Wine every night and going overseas for our coldest months every year...I did it through Living in and developing run down Houses...Bluddy Hard work for which I am paying now...So yeah, keep beavering on Old Chap!

It might be a much better investment to not buy a bunch of useless shyte just to attract golddiggers.

Rather, spend the same money hiring a LEGITIMATE "game coach" of some type to improve your general social skills.

That will pay off much more than wasting money on skanks.

I have a friend in California who started a modelling agency. He drives a lambo though. He actually doesn't make that much from the business. Most of his money comes from real estate. The modelling agency is just to get chicks and social proof. His social proof is top 10% in any given city. Claims to have slept with a lot of his models. Has some pics to prove it. The kinds of work his models do is show up to high end clubs and dance around, etc. I don't know everything about his business but he definitely uses it to his advantage.
This is actually a very good idea.

You need to shift your mentality a bit. Nothing worse than a scrooge. Most miserly people will only go so far in life.

You're a self made millionaire so I'm going to assume you have a long range plan or some sort of financial model (5/10+ years projection. Mine is 20). Tweak it so you can figure how much you can afford to spend on luxury items without a material hit to your early retirement goals.

If you're young don't bother with a Rolex unless you really want it. People will either a) not notice b) assume it was gifted c) assume it's fake. (a) is the most likely option. I bought a new Rolex in my twenties. For maximum impact you have to up your wardrobe game considerably as well. I enjoy it and the fact it holds its value better than most luxury items is a plus but for status and social proof a luxury car would be a much better option. You can't fake an i8.

Having said that I'm 30 now and expect to be a millionaire in 3 years. You won't see me spending silly money on cars and watches anymore. I think the opportunity cost is too high until you're a multi-millionaire. I go by the frugal rule of spending the higher of 5% of net assets or 10% of gross income on a car. So if you wanted to buy an i8 for $100k let say then you'd need a $2M net worth or $1M in gross income. That sounds about right.

Congrats! I'm in my mid/late thirties. Yeah a friend has a Rolex and when I noticed it after we met up for the first time in a few years, he said most people don't notice. I'm actually almost a multi millionaire but it will be 3 more years for that. Yeah a car will be more noticeable for sure. But...what am I gonna do, jump out of the car to get a girls number who's checking me out in the car next to me? Not a dig at you, I have a thread on this here, I'm really asking. I'm not sure how this will really help me unless I post a pic of it in my OLD profile. I could also just say, hey I'm a millionaire but I don't drive fancy cars or wear fancy watches because I prefer to have my money work for me.

I've had a couple women who I let know about my financial status tell me there's nothing sexier than a man who has his **** together. Well one told me that, the other gave up her number as soon as I told her how I made my money. Although she never texted me back...figures.

I actually thought about moving to Cali to start a porn company. What could be better than ****ing hot sluts on camera and making money off it? Why Cali? Because it's illegal to shoot porn everywhere else in the US...
