I just had to get this one out, because it's been on my mind for some time:

So I'll scroll through the new posts on here to see what's interesting... And often times I'll come across a post with like 5+ pages and 50+ responses. I'm like 'Damn, this Convo must be poppin' lemme see what's up' ... Only to find that the thread isn't even discussing the original topic/mfers are arguing about nothing/picking on someone and I find this ridiculous.

Here we are telling each other "Oh, she doesn't find you high enough value." "Women don't like a man that's always available" "Never argue with a woman". Yet... Here you are every day doing the opposite of those things, albeit with men... On an online forum... Dafuq?

Do you guys need to stroke your ego that bad? Most of the arguments on here aren't even worth your time. Go do something productive.

Take a step back and think about whether you're contributing positively to the forum... If you aren't, you're wasting not only everyone else's time with your post, but your own. Now tell me this, being the man you are... Masculine, high value, on your purpose etc etc... do you really have time to be on an online forum engaging in drama?

I wish I was on the forum in the early 2000s, I like the threads from that time. They seem more focused and helpful. And I'm glad we still have some people from that period on the forum. That was good times. I could've used the advice back then tbh even though I was like 8... Stop chasing girls on the playground, let them chase you lol

I digress...

It's a discussion forum. If every thread was top notch advice it would be a bunch of likes and maybe a couple of comments. It's the controversial threads or where someone goes onto a controversial topic in a thread that gets the high number of replies. It's when someone trigger a reaction in a lot of guys, which then reply and trigger a reaction in others guys, then it goes back and forth until one side is just exhausted by it.

Take a step back and think about whether you're contributing positively to the forum...
Yeah, do that. I wouldn't say this complaint of a thread provides much value and I doubt it will make any change. You know you could make these high quality threads that you desire to see, right?

Now tell me this, being the man you are... Masculine, high value, on your purpose etc etc... do you really have time to be on an online forum engaging in drama?
Time isn't an issue. In 2019 we have internet connection almost anywhere right in our pocket. You pick up your phone when you have to wait anyways and go on SoSuave.

I wish I was on the forum in the early 2000s
Only difference between now and then is that back then you could be certain the very frequent posters actually had no life. These days this isn't the case, you have no clue how productive me or anyone else here actually is.

Also, yeah I'd like to see the same type of posts made in that era, why don't you go make the forum into what you'd want by being the change you'd like to see?

C'mon @GrowingPains...

Does this mean I have to go back to my office and log on into my laptop just to enter SS to be an effective poster ?

Sorry OP, I would not have the luxury of time with other commitments.

I spend max 3 hours per day in the office and of that 3 hours I perhaps get 30 minutes to gloss over things on my laptop then it's all meetings until I'm off galavanting.

When you reach certain professional level you'll get to realise how free a man can actually be once he's truly effective with time management and of course also being very effective at empowering colleagues to exceed all mandated KPI's.

I mainly come here for entertainment.

If I learn something, or someone learns something from me, that's icing on the cake. People's problems are complex, and unlikely to be solved by talking to someone on the internet, IMO. You can get a fresh idea to adopt now and then.

In terms of improving the quality of the forum, I'd encourage everyone to try and keep an open mind.

I agree that I'd love for this forum to be a place where guys can come and get positive feedback and learn from others experience and knowledge.

You are always going to get your trolls in every forum but don't engage them, they just feed off it.

Straight males are a targeted demographic right now, I don't think it's in our best interests to go to war with each other.

I believe threads get off topic because really there is nothing new to discuss, and it's a effort to keep things interesting. Let's be honest... this isn't rocket science. Often times I read my posts and I'm a broken record... saying the same things over and over again.

Dude comes on, tells story about sh!t going wrong with a chick... and it really doesn't matter why or how any of this happened, the right thing to do is always the same... anything other than enthusiastic behavior from women is low or waning interest. And the correct course of action is always, work on yourself... give the chick some space.... go fvck other chicks. If she comes back around, great...if she doesn't, great.

I personally like the threads where we discuss health and fitness... self improvement stuff. This is what I really find interesting and useful since it really is the only thing men can control. A man can effect how he shows up... and there is very little a man can do to shape the individual opinions of any particular chick. Everything boils down to time management and spending your time doing things that actually make you happy and healthy.

"PUHLEESE" was that the word you used yesterday? You wouldn't have the time? You were practically stalking me yesterday swinging from by nuts. You have close to 5000 post in a year. Be honest you have time

Coming and reading threads on SS is already quite productive. I already learned few things this past days and my account is just 11 days old.

And at the end, it's not just about learning or participating in debates, it's about being surrounded by people with the same mentality. Which is something hard to find in your daily life.

I'm honest that I lie on a regular basis, I think I've said this so many times.

And yet I have plenty of time to be online on my smartphone and no time for my laptop or the Internet cafe haha

Agreed, and that is likely why many men do spend time here. My friends for example, are all very beta. One has gained so much weight, his wife runs the show. Another got back with his ex from high school, knocked her up, and is headed for disaster, and the third had his wife leave him for a complete loser. However, they all still hold hard to their warped values.

I probably only associate with one person regularly who I would even consider on the same level. And i suppose that stems from him being from Ireland and educated. Once your eyes have been opened, it can be incredibly limiting to your options for deep friendships. Couple that with my political views, and it's quite uncommon to find someone whom I can relate with. Other than this place...

But even then, here at SS, there is going to be conflict. I personally believe everyone should invite some sort of conflict. Why? Because conflict creates opportunities to learn something new or gain a new perspective on your existing ideas about something. You don't have to agree, but it is important to listen. This is great practice for inter personal relationships because it gives you an opportunity to practice conflict resolution and the ability to properly regulate your emotions.

Are you the person that shouts and storms off? Are you the person that puts until they get their way? Or are you the person who evaluates the situation and addresses the other adults properly?

We dont have to agree, but it's important that we can see each other. And I dont mean anyone specifically.

I'm not saying people can't disagree. Disagreement, as long as it's constructive and respectful, brings out the best ideas. Natural selection of sorts. What I am saying is that often times the arguments I read are not that.

I agree with @RangerMIke after reflecting on his rocket science comment. I guess it is the same answer every time. All the answers are already there from the past. So I think I'll resolve to just read those and check the recent forums periodically.

Also, I admit I'm a bit of an idealist and that it's a bit naive of me to think there wouldn't be any negativity on SS.

It does get quite redundant. But it's very much like customer service.

Customer: where is the bathroom?

*employee grumbles and thinks I've answered this a hundred times*

Employee: it's over there...

Customer: ok, great, thank you. It's my first time here.

You may have seen the advice 100 times, but it's very likely their first time. Some guys here are just horrible at customer service, and that's what I would call, showing their cards.

Also, don't discount the value of repeat exposure to ideas. Habits can be very difficult to develop, and bad habits hard to break.

The redundancy isn't the issue. No one has time to read all threads, and all replies.

It's the specific insertion of antagonism in order to cause conflict (imo in an effort to get someone to engage, because negative attention is better than no attention) that's ridiculous and throws threads into a useless tailspin

Yes and it's far from the norm here historically.
Gentle IMO

THEY are the ones who look like fools. It's apparent that you post good content and apparent that they don't post good content. One of them is just so dense it's not worth it, and the other is exactly like an attention seeking toddler.

Stop engaging their bvllchit.
