So, I'll give an outline of two successful methods. One is mine, the other is used by other men I know. It's not foolproof, I don't endorse any particular method, it's just an observation of the way things are.
My Way:
Note, this is how I got dates and girlfriends in college and grad school. The process was pretty straightforward.
Step 1: be normal and make friends in dorms, classes, jobs and through student organizations.
a. You're probably well above average in most or all areas if you went to a well regarded school anyway so it probably comes naturally.
b. you will be meeting a lot of people: almost all of them are intelligent, friendly, ambitious, much like yourself. There is no issue of choice or scarcity
Step 2: you'll click with a smaller group of friends, some of them will be female. Over the course of months, or maybe even sooner, you'll naturally pair off.
a. parties or informal events after exams and especially finals or during holidays reinforce the strength of friendships.
Step 3: even if you don't party, you'll probably see a few women individually for informal chitchats, and this will naturally lead to dates: a concert, or some other event coming up. You invite her when you know the time is right and she will accept.
Step 4: enjoy your time with your new girlfriend!
The Other Way
This is a tried and true method used by men I know who have graduated from college.
Step 1: be willing to pay for everything. Every last dime. Every drink, every meal, every movie, if she needs an oil change or auto repair, you will pay. Just accept this reality and be at peace with it.
Step 2: step up your social media game. This is huge. Some guys I know, and even women, pay for professional photoshoots. When you go out anytime for a social event, be prepared to document with snapchat, photos or short video for instagram and facebook or twitter. Be prepared to spend on hobbies and traveling and document every event with photos and videos.
Step 3: invest 5-10 hours a week finding out what the local hotspots are, creating a schedule, creating a 'fun' lifestyle
Step 4: lower your standards. Even if you are good looking, women are busier than ever. Most are either working full time or going to school and working at least part time. Feminism has created an enormous workforce and women aren't as available for dates, or for anything, as they might have been in the past. This creates an artificial scarcity of women. Also, dating apps artificially boosts women's sense of value, more so than ever before. This is a significant double whammy so this means you have to act faster, spend more, and be more tolerant of lower quality women in your life.
Step 5: enjoy your (short term) relationship with a woman!
