First off, women (and men) only have the power to control their own lives and what position in life they hold. Should they be in local, state or the federal government, yes they have more power than other people. However, on the flip side, they also have more responsibility and criticism to deal with. Nothing is either all one way or another. Everything in life comes with drawbacks and negatives. Nothing can be 100% good. That's illogical and impractical.
