So far, one down, and not in a good way. She was early, I was on time. Looked a little like her picture, but one can see the pics where from 5 - 10 years ago. She still lives with her parents in her mid 30's and will be actually older than me in a couple of months. Said she was a teacher in her profile, well, not so much. She has a BA in teaching, but doesn't have a MA or MS; which is needed in order to teach I am told. She has no job, but is hoping to finally land one this fall. Or, she'll go back for her masters, but doesn't really want to. She has two younger sisters, both married and with kidos. She doesn't like to go out, doesn't have a favorite place to visit, doesn't have a favorite movie, doesn't have a favorite song, has no activities that she likes to do outside of work. Well, if she did work. She works here and there, but nothing. No goals in life aside to one day get married and have at least 2, maybe 3 kids. So, she has the baby rabies. Nothing wrong with the kid part, but mid 30's and nothing going for her. I met one of these a few months ago, but she was still quite hot. All she did was talk about kids, raising them, decorating their rooms, etc. I think some of these mid-30's women are a bit delusional, especially when they've not even moved out of their parents home yet.

Since she had not real job, I didn't even ask to go dutch. Normally, if they had a job and their own place, I would. I just didn't think this lady had it. Though, she lives in a upper middle class neighborhood with her parents. We had two ice teas and two pieces of pizza. 20 bucks and 45 minutes down the drain. Fastest date I ever had. I felt a bit of pity for her. She seemed on the boulevard of broken dreams.

Shoot me.

Don’t know what country you’re living in, but in most states of the US a BA in education is sufficient to get a teaching certification …
If she’s saying orherwise, it’s more than likely just her bs…

Not with public school in CT. In order to have a contract and tenure, one needs a MA or MS.
Hate to break it to you, but you’re being fed a big line of bs, or you’re feeding the forum one… btw, tenure means time on the job, and under normal circumstances has absolutely nothing to do with the degree the person holds…

Copied from a Google search…

Connecticut requires prospective teachers to hold a bachelor’s degree and complete a teacher preparation program at an accredited school. Teachers must also pass the Praxis Core skills test and subject-specific exams for the content area(s) and grade level(s) for which they are seeking endorsement.

Not in New York. Increasingly states are requiring teachers to have Masters degrees or complete Masters degrees within a certain period of time to renew their license

Not really sure what I was supposed to talk about. She has no job. She doesn't enjoy doing anything. She lives with her parents. Has no goals in her life. I was running out of things to ask? I was expanding as much as possible, but getting very little back aside from, what about you? I would then answer briefly and focus back on her.

I asked what's the craziest or most exciting thing she's done in recently. Nothing really. What do you like to do on your off time? I read, watch movies. What's your favorite book? Just one? There's so many. What about a book you read this year? Blank...

I loved The Matrix. Did you know they're rebooting it? Oh, never seen it. What types of movies do you like? I loved Titanic and Leonardo Di Caprio. He's amazing. I remember him since.

Go on any exiting trips or hikes recently? I'm really an intovert. I cannot go out as I burn easily in the sun. Grasping at straws here. Then I asked for the check, and I left. It just didn't feel right. Many of my others, even if I wasn't attracted to them flowed much easier than this. I tried my best to latch on to something. But all she does is hang out with her parents and hope to get a teaching job one day. How am I supposed to turn that around into something productive?

Open to ideas. I need something to go on.

This woman is leading you and full of BS. Why waste your time man? She could have a job but doesn’t. Lives with her parents at 35 ? Next her. Waste of time here. She’s sugar daddy hunting. Forget her.

@marmel75 I forgot to also add. When I met her, she shook my hand. First time this ever happened on a date. I always try to be a good date. When I say this lady has nothing to go on in life, I explored everything. Travel, activities, fun things, friends, family, future, goals. Usually, there is something I can grab on to and expand to widen the conversation. I only focused on her, not me. I can talk about me for hours. I learned that was an error months back so I focus everything on the date and her. When there's nothing to expand on, I am not sure what else. The date lasted 45 minutes because I felt I was climbing up a slick wall and going no where. Not blaming her or anything. She just lives a life where she's going nowhere. How does one work on that? In your mid 30's, one usually has a career. I couldn't even talk about that. She's in between jobs as she doesn't know if she'll be working at the school she's currently in. All the teachers I've dated or at least had conversations with started teaching at 23 or 24. She's 35+, assuming that's correct, and doesn't even have a contract. Again, nothing on her, but I do not know what to talk about when there's no substance to expand on in her life.

Perhaps. I try to give a blank slate and work from there. It's rare I feel pity for a person I don't know. However, this is the third teacher who's in her mid 30's living at home. The only difference is that the others had a job and were working for half a decade or more. Yes, they were looking for a beta provider, which is why I left. Both were incredibly attractive. This one was easily using pics from her 20's. My pics are, at most 2 months old. She seems nice, but something's missing.

Get more dates with different chicks. Problem solved.

Also work on your screening process. This is where a little rapport building helps instead of asking her out 4 messages in and then no communication before the date. I'm all for some texting in between but I don't over text and I dont initiate much at all after the date is set up till the date.

With the little OLD I do, I still use their career and the hobbies/fun things they do as targets for my screening process. If they straight up lie about things in their profile I would handled it like you and make the date extremely short and bounce.

All you said about her appearance is her pics looked older. Was she not attractive at all? Heavier than her pics?

You sound like you are interviewing her for a job. Have some fun...lighten up. Be interesting. None of what you talked about is interesting in a date setting.

My sister in law is pretty high up in the CT public school system... she had to get a EdD 20 years ago to get tenure. Sure you can teach with a BA or BS in that state, but you quickly get topped out and will never get tenure, your options are very limited if all you have is a bachelor's. The only exception is if you have a engineering, math, science, or physics BS, since teachers with these credentials are in demand. If you have a BA or BS in anything else you will have a hard time finding a school district that will take you.

I've gone out with teachers in the past, never really had much luck with them. The public school system in Louisiana is cr@p... and most of my dates with teachers ends up being me listening to some chick b!tch about her job. They feel trapped in a situation they hate, but they would never leave because they can't do anything else.

This is not thread worthy mate. The reason you made this thread is because you have nothing else going for you.

Nope, not at all. Looked considerably older and a bit wrinkley in the face. A nice lady, but the pics online were at leased 10 years old, perhaps more.

When the lady has nothing to provide as a basis, there's little I can do.

It was hard to get any information about why she become a teacher and her passion. She didn't really know. Just something to do, I guess she said. The rest of the family worked in the family business, she became a special ed teacher. I thought she was a bit special ed to be honest. Again, nothing wrong with that, but not really having a pulse on her life is hard to create conversaion and rapport.

Hardly. Have at least two other dates this week.

Be happy it was 20 bucks.

My last two dates SUCKED. I feel like the quality of women out there is trash. After half an hour, I told her, "thanks for coming, are you gonna Uber home or do you want me to drop you off?" She took the hint and Ubered home. Thank God.

Even though I think my screening process wipes out most of the chicks that I would not be interested in, I still give the occasional chick a chance although I might feel shaky about her.

I would never give someone who didnt look like they did in their pics and catfished me or had the personality of a rock an hour and 30 minutes. I had one of these dates fairly recently. She claimed to be an "athletic" body type on OLD. The camera angles and modified older pics were a trick. When I arrived she had already gotten us a table. I was still polite about it and ordered a beer. After 20 minutes I simply told her that I didnt think we were a good match and wanted to do us a favor and not waste each other's time, paid for the 2 beers and left. That was that.

I have no trouble being very honest with chicks, both good and bad. If I feel as though I was tricked, I will leave within a very short amount of time.

I know what I bring to the table and I am honest about it. I expect the same or I will bounce as fast as I got there. If they get mad, oh well, they asked for it when they were deceptive.

Another reason why I am killing it through facebook and real live interaction rather than using OLD.

Maybe if you're shopping for a wife, then her employment and education status might matter, but other than that I see it as totally irrelevant. I don't have a career or good job myself, and I found that had nothing to do with getting laid at OLD. In fact, I probably got laid more because of it, since I was not putting on the Mr Provider act.

All of the reasons you stated for her not being suitable for you, I see as traits that make her lonely and therefore easy. Both women and life in general are what you make of them.
