1k for sex? Why? You should just follow Richard and hire a girl from SA. You can probably get a better looking ho for less money and less STD risk.
I don't go to strip clubs and I don't pay for sex, I was being somewhat facetious with an exaggerated fake story to prove a point that strippers and hookers aren't the women you should be trying to "dress to impress". Or did you realise that? Apologies if you did.
The fact that a fake story about hitting on strippers sounds somewhat plausible on these boards is testament to the fact that there is
far too much crap written here about hiring prostitutes and paying for sex.
I don't know if there's anything to be learned about relationships with strippers there, but that is a good movie. Definitely worth a watch. Actually, the stripper in the movie (Marisa Tomei, before she played Spider-Man's aunt) actually cared about Mickey Rourke's character, she just couldn't stand to watch him destroy himself.
I think what it teaches is that once you're a paying customer, even if the girl
does really like you, it's going to cause a massive conflict of interest with her job which makes developing such a relationship almost impossible.
She cares about Rourke, yes, but her job causes them to argue, go into denial about their feelings and ultimately only try to get together once it's too late.
I thought one of the most tragic and realistic aspects of the film was seeing Rourke, an aging but muscular and proud guy, spending all his time trying to get
romantic fulfillment from a strip club, because he's so used to that lifestyle and can't get out of it (much like Richard).
It's so painful seeing this decent guy spending all his time trying to flirt with girls that just want money, not the thing he's searching for. He f*cks that random bimbo but it doesn't ease his pain because it doesn't address his deep loneliness, instead it just ruins his relationship with his daughter.
He says a joke in the Deli while he's getting some chicken for someone. Something like: "I'm looking for some nice breasts too. Some nice breasts with something more going on upstairs as well. I could really go for that."
I think even just that line summarises why hollow sex with no meaning or emotional fulfilment for your whole life results eventually in the lack of something really important.
