I'm not saying the system is all good here. I know way to many guys who have been through it and got rolled over. It's not good. But it was alimony that killed them, not child support. Every one of these guys I know had no problem paying it.

I had to pay it for a while too. Making six figures but paying only $180 wk for child support. Now that I have full custody, I put out at least 3 times that much every week to take care of my kid. Child support was way cheaper.
When I'm working they get over $3,000 a month. That excludes health benefits .

The health is covered by my insurance plans. I'm responsible for 1/2 of out of pocket.

It's more than enough to cover food, the room the child stays, clothing, extra curricular .

To add further insult to injury.... If the State has to give the baby mama and offspring funds to live (EBT, Utilities, health insurance, etc) they will give it to the baby mama and then go after the father with wage garnishments and bank sweeps in order to recoup those funds.

It makes it very hard for a man with assets and a good income to have kids these days. Reason being, child support is based off a percentage of your income; rarely capped. So, even though it doesn't take 25k a month to raise a child, if your income is high enough, they will garnish up to that amount.

G-d save you if your kid has a medical issue such as autism or any of those other degenerative diseases. Don't even bother working. I know a bro who has nearly 60% of his after tax income taken for child support. His baby mama and the two kids live like royalty. He's living in a mobile home trailer.

This is America...
