For every one of your horror stories about a woman taking advantage of a man, I hope you realize that there is another story that's flipped around.

i think most people on this forum would agree with you. However this forum is specifically meant for men to talk about their issues / questions about women so you are not going to hear many females on here complaining.

Most guys aren't brought to sites like this because they have a wealth of pleasant experiences with women. The best girlfriend I had in my life cheat on me. People described her the same way you described those women. And I wasn't fat and unemployed. I was playing in bands, had a steady job, a house and was reasonable looking.

Besides, you could say cynical and others would say realist. Women can and do cheat, even when they seem like lovely people. We're here to learn how to get the best relationships we can with women, whether it's just hooking up or looking for a stable LTR. Part of that is discussing the darker side of things.

That's fine and I agree but this is a site for men so you're not going to get the chance to hear about men being *******s. As I said, I've known women like that too. I've had a few of them in hotel rooms before. They're perfectly sweet, nice great housewives until they're not.

Aren't you the guy who says that the girls you want have impossibly high standards? Sounds pretty cynical to me.

Anyway, as you say, there are good stories out there where relationships and marriages turned out well. The problem is, no matter how well you screen, there is no way to guarantee that's the way your marriage will turn out. People can change over time, and I don't believe there is any way to totally predict it. There's a saying: The woman you divorce is never the woman you married. The problem is, when you get married, you are handing control of a large portion of your life over to someone else - and you don't know what that person's agenda is going to be 10, 20, 50 years down the line.

A lot of men are disgusting failures and/or a-holes, as you say. But women initiate the vast majority of divorces, so there is some evidence that they can't be relied upon.

I don't agree that there are equal men screwing women over and so brutally might I add as there are women screwing men over. The women have the power of the court system in their favor and that alone gives them the advantage if all other factors were equal. Where men did go wrong as a whole though, IMO, is allowing women to have the powers that they now have. Men let that happen and only men can take control back. Will they ever do it? I go back and fourth on that. I want to think that they will. MGTOW is gaining a lot of momentum here in the past year or so and if that continues then we could see a shift... But for now we as men need to dot every I and cross every T in keeping our guard up in our interactions with women. Cuz collectively they got us by the b@lls right now and they know it.

I think that men place a lot of importance on having a sense of honor, whereas women tend to make more decisions based on emotions. That doesn't include everyone, of course, a lot of men are just straight up dirtbags. But more men will probably take their vows more seriously, while for women it may be more just part of the ceremony. So if women don't feel the "magic" anymore, they may be more likely to cheat or file for divorce rather than see the rough patches through.
