Argument is two-sided:

By buying the car through a home equity line, you are capturing the lowest interest rate, so from a monetary standpoint, this could be a smart choice. You also are freeing up cash flow for your business at a 2-3% interest per annum, which your business will likely earn more than (as opposed to buying in cash).

However:

You are collateralizing the purchase of a vehicle against real property, whereas if you default on the loan, you are not getting the car repossessed, but instead, your house is subject to foreclosure.

The deciding factor of financing depends on the likelihood of your making good on the loan.
100% likely to repay the loan. The insurance is twice the monthly payment of the loan, and I can pay that, too.

In a purely mathematical sense, I could have taken out money for my business at 2.49% and got hopefully returns in the 60% range once everything goes smoothly.

But then I wouldn't look super cool driving around in a Lamborghini. And if anyone makes small d1ck jokes, that's a perfect transition to tell them about my surgically enlarged bionic junk.

Insurance will likely be more than the car loan payments, especially against theft, because he lives in Florida. So he won't buy it, the car will get stolen, and he will lose both the house and the car.

OP obviously has his money because of absolutely nothing in the world that he did on his own merits. He probably had a lawsuit settlement over his car crash. He's a great example of fools and their money being parted.
Insurance, gas (guzzler), expensive maintenance and repair. It all adds up.

He'll have much tax write offs IF he's smart. More important concern is the level of depreciation for resell, in case he needs an exit.

I know there are risks. But that just means I have to flip houses faster. It's not that hard once you have the money to get started.

I think the best thing to do would be to act like a really humble, cool guy whenever anyone mentions it.

That i8 was a hybrid. 4x the gas mileage and half the cost. But I've always wanted a Lamborghini, I'm not gonna stop when I'm this close to the finish line.

When I was 21 yo and an independent contractor, I financed an $85,000 vehicle, which is similar to the $150k price tag with inflation. I'm going to go against the consensus opinion here and say if you truly desire it, and have done your due diligence as to the depreciation involved, AND are willing to sell it at the depreciative loss if necessary, then go ahead and do it IF you still want to after reading this.

While it's true from a rational standpoint, the most prudent action is not to buy it and invest into your business, I fully understand the flipside that certain assets, or in this case liabilities, can act as catalysts to expand your paradigms and incite you to earn more. While this purchase would be entirely inadvisable for a W2 employee whose wages are fixed, for the self-employed individual, who has pliability of income--contingent upon his or her motivation--it's a different ballgame.

Though with 60% business returns annually, you will be losing 90k per year by tying up 150k. I couldn't rationalize losing 90k per year in business revenue at the inception period of a business, where net income is most valuable for exponential growth. When I financed my car back then, my business did not require capital.

That's okay, I'll make a ton of money, anyway.

I’m sure you’ll find a few golddiggers very happy to let you drop them off at broke and careless Chad’s house.
But I'm actually more alpha than Chad. Do you think running a business is easy? Or that some passive beta guy could do it?

Has Chad ever broke his neck or been to prison?

A girls perception of what is alpha is not necessarily reality. Especially if they're in the sought after 18-24 she range. What are they expected to know about the world at that age? Their pretentiousness is actually quite offensive and upsetting to me.

No gunna go into all the details about it since it looks like you are mostly thinking with your heart and trying to justify it. Understandable when talking about buying a supercar.

I had an R8 (the gentleman’s lambo ;) )a couple years ago. Before that I had a few other exotics. I have never pulled a girl because of the cars. The kind that it did get the attention of were the kind I avoid. Lowlife chick just looking to get your money. Most chicks look at it like it’s a bad thing. I bought it for myself so didn’t matter to me. If anything it’ll attract a lot of guys to you. Could be good though, will help you get a social circle. But since I believe you’ve said you hate fake people/people in general, it’ll get old fast if all they care about is your car. Had a “friend” that only wanted to go out one night if I was driving the r8 lol told him he’s a piece of sh1t and haven’t talked to him since. That type of person will care more about your car than spending time with you.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

If anything, it would transition to me talking about my business, which is something I'm passionate about.

I realize that no girl is going to sleep with me just because I have a Lambo, but I would hope it would say other things about my personality that they find attractive. Like that I'm hardworking, ambitious, dedicated, etc.

I am hoping it draws as much attention as I want it to. It's gonna be orange.

I’m not sure what breaking your neck and going to prison has to do with being “alpha” if I’m honest?

It just showcases bad luck and a possible lack of moral integrity.

No chick is going to say no to an attractive, amusing Chad when he tells her that he hasn’t been to prison. She’d be more alarmed if he had.

Frogman, you're cruising for a financial bruising. This has to be one of the most ridiculous ideas I've ever heard. I put it right up there with sub-prime mortgages. There's an old saying with exotic cars. If you cannot afford to pay cash, do not buy it. Plus, these things are a nightmare with repairs I am told. You remind me of Brittney Spears and her money issues. Perhaps someone should be put in charge of your piggy bank. You are blowing it on useless things. Hookers and attempting to buy a Lambo to impress people who do not give a fvck about you. Outside of gold diggers, women are not impressed with exotic cars.

What's your end game here? If you are racing to the bottom, there are more exhilarating things you can do than piss your hard earned money away. Unless you are a trust fund recipient. If you have millions upon millions of $$$ to spend, knock yourself out. I still think it's incredibly irresponsible and you are cruising for a bruising. I really wish you'd seek some professional help. No doubt, you need to speak to someone to help you get your head straight.

Means I'm tough. Tougher than he is.

No, it means that you come off as a creeper who got caught stalking some poor soul. I highly doubt you would appear "tough" in any sense of the term in the view of another man much less a woman of value. Breaking your back is part of life. Seriously, no one gives a sh*t about your medical history. In relationship to the fancy car you might be better served getting a nose job as it is a feature that diminishes your physical appearance. Good luck...

I've been told I have a nice nose many times.
