Just signed up today after reading The Rationale Male about a month ago (twice). Currently reading Preventive Medicine.

My shift from beta to alpha has been...uncomfortable. I'm saying things I never would have considered saying and acting in ways I never would have considered before reading The Rationale Male. I should add a note of clarification here: I'm acting in ways I never would have consciously considered.

All along during my beta lifestyle, I've never felt "right" or "good" about myself. Like I was giving up part of my life force energy or power whenever I acted so beta. "The way to a woman's heart is by treating her with extreme niceness and gentleness." I honestly believed that, even after it didn't work for the 1000th time! ****.

After reading TRM, my whole life came into focus. No ****ing wonder I've been a woman repellent. But, I was conditioned from the beginning to be beta. This change I'm making seems big, and it's as if I'm required to stretch myself on a daily, moment to moment basis.

Being a newb here, would love to hear some of your beta to alpha stories/anecdotes, especially pertaining to your shift in the way you relate to women.

I once did a sketch for a girl I'd been seeing for less than a month. We had been sleeping together but I was basically treating it like we'd been dating for years. 21 year old me getting dumped by that girl kick started my red pill journey. If I ever bump into her again I should thank her.

The genuinly bad natured women that i've been with, i can count on one hand with fingers left over..
It's tough to grasp the concept that most people aren't bad people. Just flawed and unable to consider their actions for whatever reasons. In the dating game so much is just biology. People want to believe they deserve love, attention and respect as a default but that's not the case. You earn those things by bringing value to other people. Once you bring value to other people, you understand your worth and can find someone who brings value to you in return. Then the idea of a "game" kind of dissipates and everything becomes incredibly simple.

I can relate. In my early 20s, I drew a picture for a girl who I was "dating," scanned it to my computer, and emailed it to her. LOL. We met online and it was long distance. I was so utterly conditioned.

I feel the same. The genuinly bad natured women that i've been with, i can count on one hand with fingers left over. Which is why i have to laugh when guys start with the "high/low quality woman" discussion. It's often just a dislike of human beings :D

I regret nothing. I've learnt a lot together with women. They've added significantly to my life.

At worse, nothing is personal. It's all just needs being met.
Yeah, I think I've dated maybe one genuinely bad natured girl. And that may not even be true. I think a woman is bad natured to the extent that a man is blue pilled. I viewed her as a bad natured ***** because I was trying so damn hard in the relationship.

If it weren't for my unpleasant experiences, I never would have come into contact with the red pill concepts. It's definitely not personal...I think the way women treat men is largely unconscious.

Couldn't agree more.

Weird.

Perhaps you view game as trying to get something for nothing?

I view it as a value delivery mechanism of sorts.
I would agree (keep in mind I'm saying that as a fresh red piller). I think the term "game" makes it sound like something it's not. It's a process of developing new behaviors and attitudes is the way I understand it. To me "game" is simply a word that describes the process of relating to oneself and other people in new, more effective ways.

BTW, I like the phrase in your profile. "Beauty is just another **** test." I hadn't considered that. Seems really true.

alpha beta sounds so lame. next time say you are transfering from no options to a lot of options
I agree. If one has to ask what it is to be "alpha" on a forum like this, then one will probably never know. It can be faked to people, that don't otherwise know and certain qualities can be embodied, but when the real deal comes around they will be exposed and the ego has been set up for a detrimental blow. Masculinity is learned from being around other men. It means putting yourself in in the company of other men, that are bigger, stronger, faster, tougher, smarter, more courageous, more honorable, more technically versed, than your self and accepting that you are not always going to be the top dog, not from reading a book or a forum. It's learned from life experience, challenging yourself and being challenged by life and other men. Only then, will you truly understand masculinity and "alpha". Without skin in the game, everything else is speculation.

Game to me sounds like a set of input and outputs. You play chess by making moves, thinking about what to do and what your opponent will do. If you have value by making yourself more attractive in all the ways that's possible (looks, humor, money and confidence) you really don't have to do anything. You're just being yourself, not playing a game. I think when I started reading this stuff a decade ago I viewed it as moves rather than self improvement. I'm not making moves anymore.

You'll see GAME, and you as a player, when you don't approach her, and the manual says: approach! You'll see MASCULINITY, and you as a MAN, when you KNOW that the MASCULINE BEHAVIOR to a man is to just approach the woman he wants. So, seek for becoming a MASCULINE MAN instead of a PLAYER. When you begin, it is normal to look at the manual. But try to see the natural rules behind the things and, step by step, transform your life into a man's life. Always ask yourself: how a MAN should face the problems I have in hand? That surely will help a clueless nice guy on the path of becoming a man.
