Why do vast majority of women want somebody so much better than themselves nowadays?

There is this woman I know who is 47 and single. She is 5'2, decent looking face, decent body. She makes like 40K a year. She doesn't want to date anybody who is not at least 5'11-6'0, maybe 200 lbs of ripped muscles and making at least 150-200K

I see this a ton nowadays. Lots of mid 20s women especially want a man with a long list of accomplishments when she makes 13 bucks an hour herself at some bull**** job.

It's seriously sad how many athletic and good looking guys I see coming in at my job with a girlfriend who is a 3-4/10 also. Soooo many quality men nowadays who are dumpster diving. I used to have a female co worker who was a legitimate 2/10 (ugly horrible skin, fat, no curves) and she had a tall and athletic handsome boyfriend. Honestly I can't remember a time in history when dating was at this catastrophic inequality. What is causing this? Why are these guys so ****ing desperate to date such garbage?

I'll add hypergamy, which makes it such that some women keep themselves out of the dating market until Superman comes calling. The fact that high value men will *sex* up women but not seriously date them helps to give these women the impression that they can get such a man for a serious relationship.

^This. The world has gone down the sewer, and this is the toxic byproduct. Both men and women are to blame. But I blame men a little bit more cuz we are the smarter and stronger of the two genders. We (all men as a whole, as one united entity) once had total control of everything in the world. no questions asked. Then we gradually gave up our powers and control all for the promise of getting our noodles wet by creatures who are physically, mentally, and genetically insuperior to us in every way, shape, and form. Getting our noodles wet is good, but giving up our powers for it is certainly not. Those of us here on Sosuave know what’s really going on. But there are not enough of us to fix this problem on a large scale. It won’t happen in our lifetime and probably not in the lifetime of our great great great great great grandsons. Sad.

And I realized my problem the other day.
I have a good mom who was a better wife to my dad. She was submissive in the fact that my dad was the leader and she was his sidekick. That's what i know which is the opposite to what the world is today.
I have 3 sisters. My little sister is like my mom, she is happily married and a good wife and mother. My older sister is bipolar and divorced and my other sister a selfish npd traits divorced 3x. Makes perfect sense.

I'm stuck with what I know from my parents and how my mom was as a wife, and what i get today are chit awful women.

My mom cooked every day, did laundry, cleaned the house, had me at all my sporting events and my sisters, and went back to work and still maintained all this as my dad worked shifts, and NEVER complained or lacked in any of this.
I'm italian, our culture of women are mostly caretakers they get chit done. Oe used to.

No man can walk leisurely through life without challenge and expect to come out successful. If you always live by the rules and never challenge the status quo, you'll never get anywhere, be it with business, with women or with anything else. That's what a man has to be. A lot of women seem to understand this, but a lot of men do not.

Many women who request such particulars are laying out some rules, and although some of these rules may not be flexible, most of them are, and they usually serve to weed out the men who do not have the instinct and mindset of success that they desire. The reason why is because most men automatically disqualify themselves if they know they lack a trait or a quality that a woman is requesting. That is not a mindset of success.

What a lot of men don't realize is that the more outlandish a woman's request is, compared to the woman's own qualities, the more likely she will compromise on it if other things check out.

If a 5'8" woman is requesting a man 6'0"+, that is a reasonable request, and odds are she is less likely to be flexible about it. But if a 5'2" woman makes the same request, she is much more likely going to date a man who is 5'8" or 5'9" who has other qualities that she desires.

If a woman making 100k/yr. is requesting a man who makes as much or more, that is a reasonable request, and odds are she is less likely to be flexible about it. But if a woman making 40K/yr makes the same request, she is much more likely going to date a man who is making 65k/yr but has the other qualities that she desires.

If a tight, fit, sexy woman is requesting a 200 pound, muscular man, that is a reasonable request, and odds are she is less likely to be flexible about it. But if a chubby, lazy woman makes the same request, she is much more likely going to date a man who is 170 pounds and slim who has other qualities that she desires.

Any woman who doesn't operate in this way is usually detached from reality. They have yet to learn that the world does not owe them anything. And yes, there are a lot of women out there like that. They are best avoided for your sake. It is best to leave them delusional and alone.

I think his point is about being reasonable. Nobody wants to settle for something less than they deserve. The OPs post was about how women are unreasonably expecting way much more than they deserve.
