I would consider myself a pretty funny guy, girls usually laugh and smile at jokes I make, but I've always thought the guys who are more stoic are probably considered more masculine and desirable to women.

Do you think it's very important to make girls laugh in order for them to be attracted to you? I mean, girls generally are easy to humor, so maybe it's not all that important.

I know that looks, money, and status are considered the 3 most important traits for a man on this board, but I feel like a good sense of humor and ability to make girls laugh is an underrated trait, as long as you don't overdo it.

I don't think being funny gets you laid any quicker but it definitely has it's use for keeping girls interested in you. I'm a pretty funny guy and girls tend to fall for me. Not exactly what I'm going for half the time but oh well.

Not at all.

Comedians get more ass than a toilet seat.

There is witty funny and there is pathetic funny. Don't be the second one and you'll be fine.

Being funny and a sense of humour is a caracteristic of all great man... look at all the politicians who marked history for good or bad reasons, comedians, businessman with social skills.

What you don't want is being known as a 'JOKER'... always smiling, saying funny jokes for attention... overdoing your humour even if its funny.

In these case, you'll be known as the joker of the group and you'll be too busy getting attention and cracking joke while the guys around you are actually seducing the girls... you'll just be the left alone wingman lol or girls will consider you ''childish''

You want to have a great sense of humour... but you want to use it smartly... only when you confronted or in a corner or seeking to break the ice.

In a ''social formula''...
Here's a joker: Crack joke, talk 5 minutes, crack joke, talk ten minutes, crack joke, talk ten minutes, crack another joke, the people leave or you leave, crack a joke etc...

The joker will use humour to hide is ''weakness'' or ''lack of confidence''

Here's a guy with a sense of humour: Approach and talk, girl or guy respond, use humour, talk 20 minutes, crack a joke, talk and exchange for 30 minutes, crack another joke, take or get the number, talk, talk, talk for 30 minutes, crack a joke, 5 minutes talk.. leave

Humour is a deadly seductive tool (it shows confidence, social skills, intellectual, humour in itself)... use it smart... and girls will love it

That's probably the key right there. The whole "less is more" standard so you're not always seen as trying too hard, so people can still appreciate your sense of humor, and therefore, your company.

Leave them wanting more is another way to put it.

Funny is great. Just don't be a clown. No one has ever respected a clown.

When performing outside the courts of aristocrats, jesters in many parts of medieval Europe had extremely low status, even compared to other non-wealthy commoners. In some medieval laws their status were only marginally higher than that of outright slaves

it's not gonna get you girls all on its own or anything, but it's preferable to being boring or quiet or uninteresting

only way it'll hurt you is if you get too caught up in cracking jokes to escalate or if the girl has a terrible sense of humor

for me my humor is one of my best assets so it's almost always on full display

Being able to make someone, or a group of people, both men and women laugh is POWERFUL social proof and also an amazing way to make people feel more at ease and comfortable around you. It is in no way shape or form a disadvantage in the game.

Who the fukk, cares? Most of the chodes on this board are so 'chick centric' they mayaswell cut off the wang and wear a dress.

Everything in moderation. A man with a refined sense of humor is attractive. Too much and he’s a dancing monkey class clown.
A an old wing buddy of mine does this with descent success. It's not my style at all and it does make me cringe at times but damn it works for him. It's his goto for acquiring plates as well. Again it's all perception he can be stoic at times but walks that line of a class clown. I've seen him make girls cry laugh so yeah funny af like the cool kids say.

Easiest way to pick up a bar sloot: warm them up with some small talk & humor, throw in some kino & funny sexual innuendoes and BOOM off to the after party at your place. Pretty standard template for ONS pick-ups.

I lean towards the more introverted aspect so humor has always been my goto in my toolbox. Make'em laugh hard enough can also give them tingles aswell so hell no being funny is not unmasculine.

Being funny doesn't fit into a masculine or feminine category. However, it does separate between boring and interesting people.

Humour is an interesting subject. There are those who memorize jokes and share funny memes on Facebook, those who have incredible wit, and those who can do both. Personally, I can't memorize a joke to save my life, but I can take a statement and run a funny comment off it.

Won't help you if it's to the detriment of other traits. Of course if you're extremely boring it will probably help to get a sense of humor, but you don't need to be a comedian.

It's really hard to get very good at one thing, even then you're limited to those interested in it. It's a lot easier to get somewhat good at many things, the total package matters more anyways.

The only context in which stoicism is attractive is by not reacting to negativity. If you stop reacting to positivity you'll just become boring.

As many guys above have said, it depends from where it's coming from. I think you either are funny or you're not. You shouldn't try to be funny as that's where most people fail in most cases, but if you are out on a date with a girl and you're centered in your own masculine energy and YOU are having fun with the situation and are as outcome independent as can get, you will definitely crack jokes here and there and will not even give a damn whether she likes them or not. Get to the point where you're making the jokes because you feel like it and that's it. No need to impress anyone with jokes or anything else for that matter.

Humor is fun and likeable, but not necessarily sexy per se.

If she is already attracted to you, being funny is a plus because it makes you fun to be around.

If she is already attracted to you, flirting in a funny playful way could probably increase the atttaction.

If she is not attracted to you, humor alone would make you a better friend (as in friendzone)* at best or dancing monkey at worst.

*Being known as a funny guy in your social circle isn’t the worst thing. Better to be funny than boring or creepy. Just don’t overdo it to the point of being tryhard.

Keep a straight face when you say witty, humorous things. I find that guys who smile too brightly with their jokes and get lost in laughter appear less masculine.

If your genuinely funny, it only works in your favor - it makes people "feel" good, esp if they associate with you ------ why would you ever consider that to be a bad thing?

What you don't want to be is a clown - funny in the way people feel sorry for.
