I definitely agree with the texting part. A few witty messages can really separate you from the rest of the herd blowing up an HB's phone. No need to be Shakespeare, but putting together a string of funny texts has really helped me (I like using sarcasm + self-deprecating humor, but this is really a tight rope act, and can easily backfire...).

My social media sucks because I frankly don't have the time or energy to have a cool instagram page, but I definitely acknowledge and recognize its value.

Im old school. I dont know. Its wierd but i sometimes feel more *special* being that guy whos disconnected from social media...that mystery man who only exists in reality and not in the augmented social media online world everyone is living in these days. aside from a couple anonymous style forums like this my social media presence is zero. I prefer to keep it that way simply because I get addicted to those type of apps and start attention wh0ring and looking for that interaction etc...but i dont like putting myself out there in that way.

times change dude, remember that in the 50s getting laid required you to not be black or gay or basically anything that isn't 100% normal/majority, in the 1700s getting laid required you to wear a powdered wig, and in the 1300s getting laid required you to survive the plague and viking raids and pray that this year's crop yield is enough to feed your family so that you'd even have the free time to try and woo the ladies in your dirty peasant clothes
