Got me a set of Black Mountain resistance bands. Came with a lifetime warranty. I find that surprising because you would think they would lose their snap after awhile. Also impressed with how inexpensive these things are.

hi mate, I bought myself a full kit of those bands, very good quality too..

I have been told by the doctor to let the inflammation settle somewhat.. so a couple of weeks of rest and icing..

After the rest period, I intend to start with shoulder rehab work, also Dynamic Blackburns.. Hopefully in one months time we will be seeing some results

What actually can speed up inflamatiom reduction is altering hot/cold every 15-20 seconds. It acts like a natural pump in the body causing blow to flow in and out of that area and helping take the crap causing inflammation with it. As part of an ankle sprain healing protocol it works wonders, and I don't see why it wouldn't work in the same fashion there...same issue is at play...that area with all the tendons/ligaments etc suffers from lack of blood flow so anything that increases blood flow to the area will help the healing process.

Thanks for the update.
I'm really surprised at how versatile these bands are, the sheer number of exercises you can do is amazing. They can't replace weights, of course, but I could see they'd be handy to have around the house to get the blood flowing.

If you've ever watched WWE, sometimes you see the wrestlers backstage using them to warm up and tone a bit before going to the ring.

They are tremendous for rehab/prehab work. My trainer has me doing band work of some type almost every workout. They help both rehabbing and preventing injuries, and the heavier ones are damn hard...he loves having me do band walks(lateral, front and back), Terminal Knee Extensions, Ankle savers, band pull aparts, etc...on the heavy band walks my hip flexors are burning so bad at the end I want to almost cry

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

Great advise here man... I ordered some hot/cold pads to use on my shoulder today, so will defo start targeting that inflammation...

Also do you feel this is good advise by my doctor?

01. Complete rest for my shoulder for at least 2 weeks..

02. After 2 weeks, start with shoulder rehab work

If that's what he suggested, go for it. Go for a follow up visit if he wants that also.

Is this a orthopedic doctor or just a regular physician? I would make sure to go see an orthopedic doctor, or a sports medicine doctor who deals with these types of injuries on a regular basis...not saying the regular doctor is wrong but the orthopedic doctor is definitely the one who knows how to treat these better.

CBF reading the replies in this thread.
Look into CBD oil for the inflammation
HGH will help loadssss with pain and recovery from injuries
and like stovepipe said right above me, look into doing some test, i wouldn't consider multiple compounds. Stick with the basics and drop that test deep into those booty cheeks my dude.

This isn't difficult. STOP training anything to do with the shoulder. Let it heal. Well, I'll give a little bit....if it doesn't HURT, you can do it. Any doctor will tell you pain is the body's way of telling you something is wrong.

Do other things. Yoga, pilates, lower body training, core work, diet, sprinting, cardio....there are tons of other things to do.

Well i went along with marmel75 advise, with applying hot and cold to the shoulder on regular intervals..

My shoulder is feeling a whole lot better since.. its two weeks now of complete rest, so from Monday I will start the shoulder rehab band work...

Two weeks of band work, then i get back into very light weight training..

I have also looked into hanging from a bar.. apparently this can reshape the rotator cuff area, and create some room to free up the inflamed area...

Anyone here tried this hanging from a bar method?

Did it work for you?

Two weeks up already? Time flies when you're getting old. I'll start the rehab stuff today then also, I've been trying to kind of follow you.

I haven't been using any ice or heat, because my shoulder doesn't feel that bad lately. Even though I can tell it isn't "right". I've been avoiding too much over the head activity.

I've seen guys here recommend pull ups and such, I'm surprised those don't put a strain on the shoulder?

I don't know if it's my imagination or what, but it does seem like it feels better since I've been using these bands. I mean it's still not right, I'm not sure if it will ever be right. I'm kind of skeptical about the whole thing, as I'm skeptical about most things. But the rehab exercises do seem to help stabilize the shoulder some. I've been keeping it pretty light though. What's your experience?

That's why they are done as rehab, because they help, lol...

I've had numerous shoulder issues since college, including an impingement which the doctor forbade me from lifting for 6 months, and if I don't do these regularly, I can tell...and I know that something bad is going to happen.

It's like the problem is still there, but the muscles around the problem get stronger, so the problem area doesn't have to work as hard and gets more support. I suppose it's possible in time it may even heal up. But I feel like as soon as I go back to the heavy lifting it's going to flare up again. Time will tell, I suppose.

from my experience, when you go back to heavy lifting, at some point it will flare up again.

I had a rotator cuff injury 2 years ago, the only thing that helped it to heal, was in fact going back to the gym and lifting again..

but only light weights... the shoulder area became stronger, eventually it stopped hurting completely.

but you never know when it will flare up again.. both my shoulders are effected now..

I would start up with light training.. lower weights but higher reps

also continue with band work and dynamics black burns, to keep your shoulder strong

anybody with experience of hanging from a bar?

I have read it can reshape the injured area, and create some room for the inflamed area to heal
