My guess is that his mental illness manifested in such a way that he had a distorted Madonna/***** complex mixed with emphatic narcissism. He wanted the top end women in terms of physical beauty, but he didn't have the pure physicality and or game needed to bed those women. Dude was an ethnic guy in California trying to get the hot blonde popular girl types, one of the toughest things to do, especially in Isla Vista. Stay out of there if you are anything other than white or black. This is why location is so big!

People like to mention game and what not, does not matter at all. Isla Vista and just California in general are brutal for any guy that is ethnic, in other words anything other than black or white. Isla Vista itself is probably one of the most shallow college towns in the nation and the people are full out narcissists. No doubt the guy felt left out and even in his manifesto the life coaches were telling him to stay far far away from that place. People there lack empathy and are in their own world, very tough to make friends if you aren't a rich kid or some black rapper thug type of person.

No doubt being in CA led to a lot of his mental illness, the area in general is one giant keeping up with the joneses culture.
