Isn't Modeling yourself after James Bond bad?

I remember somebody mentioning the "Gaston Disorder" a long time ago, where people who tried to model their personality after fictional characters end up extremely maladjusted because they are not an accurate representation of real life.

I remember there was a story about a guy who tried to model himself after Ryan Gosling from Drive and while he did get amazing ***** he had to make sure every girl he met had never watched Drive.

I can understand taking qualities from his characters into yourself, as he is a positive archetype, however where should you stop when it comes from "being like James Bond"?

(Tyler Durden etc. apply for this question as well)

Modeling yourself after a fictional character speaks to a lack of personal inner strength, self awareness, and common sense.

I would stop at the following:
Jumping on and off rooftops and moving trains.
And follow this advice:
Only wear budgie smugglers if you have a parrot.
Limit yourself to $10 at the casino.
Don't sleep with female double agents unless you want a dose.
Ditch the bow tie, no favours to a thin neck.
Go to the toilet more often.
Always have your Martini stirred (exchange the olive for a c*cktail cherry, more erotic).
Always wear sandals on the beach.
Carry a proper handkerchief (ironed).
Consider sex with a man at least once in your life.

Anyone who hung out here and did the work wouldn't need to. What do we advocate. Challenge woman check. Have an overriding mission check. Lifting and martial art ie be a strong protector check. Be worldly and well read check.

It's a common piece of advice: if you want to be successful in certain areas of your life, find people who have
already achieved success in that particular area that your striving to succeed in......and model their success habits.

Robert Kiyosaki mentions this and states that he had his own "financial models" (If I remember he mentioned Trump) people who had already being a financial success, he would all most imagine that he was them while making decisions.

Athletes do it. If you train in a martial art it makes sense that you study the best and you'll probably have a favorite fighter that might be similar to the style you wish to emulate.

James Bond is an international spy. A fictional one at that. So unless you're an international spy or delusional I'm not sure what good it would do modeling yourself on the character.......

What goals would you have written out in which James Bond could be the key to you achieving said goals...

Certain knowledge and personal goals to aspire to can no doubt be learned from viewing the fictional Bond. He had excellent situational awareness and poise in a club or social setting, and 9-10 HB's did not phase him. Certainly a DJ trait.

Scripted acting.

If that's what one wanted to learn, wouldn't it be better to go out to a club in person with somebody who has "excellent situational awareness and poise in a club or social setting"?

Model yourself and learn from someone doing it live with you there. Instead of being one of a million posers in clubs and bars who believe "they are acting like James Bond"
