Wednesday May 3

I went in today and Coffee Courtney was not seen, however Girl A said "Hi Neil!" This was the first time anyone there used my name. I called her by name also, but she said "Neil, my name is not Girl A." That part was a joke I used her actual name.

It's common in this situation to meet a different girl than you wanted. You have to take the ones that make themselves available. At this point I don't want to blow it with girl A unless girl C starts pursuing like she is. If I should ask girl C out and she is taken, I'm done there. On the other hand, if girl A makes herself available girl C would only be more intrigued. In general a man can only ask out one girl in an establishment per season.

May 12 - I hadn't seen Coffee Courtney in about 2 weeks. In the meantime all the other girls started calling me by name.

Today I went in and saw her again, and she said "Hi, how ARE you?" just as another girl said "Hi Neil!". She had headphones on and was delivering a bunch of things. At the end of my coffee she was lingering near where I drop the cup so I went over and put the cup down and she said "How have you been?" and I said "I haven't seen you for a while" and she said "I've been training". She actually started talking to me, going on about her week. However, she had to lift her headphones off her ear at times to speak.

Wanting her to do some modeling I had to perform my key qualification. I said "You don't have any tattoos" and she said "No! I couldn't stand the pain. I'm too afraid!" I said "I knew you didn't!". At that point she was lost in a sea of customers at 8am so I snuck out, but she now qualifies to be my next model.

I found myself near her the second I walked in today but the line was out the door so I didn't say anything. Two other girls called me by name. Four girls have now called me by name there but not Coffee Courtney.

So then I overheard some guy doing exactly what I tried to avoid: chatting her up and doing almost all the talking. However I overheard her drop the bomb: she has two kids. I thought she said ages 10 and 8 meaning she got pregnant at 15. I'm shocked. She has the most slender, perfect figure. What a beautiful girl.

Today the cashier messed up and they had to print me a gift card. Coffee Courtney was the most senior person there and she fixed the register and then came over and said "Neil?" and the other girls both pointed and said "That's Neil!" and she said "Here you go, Neil!" and handed me a free $4 card.

So she finally used my name, but note she didn't know me by name yet. They obviously aren't all there talking about me when I'm not there. I'll have to see if she actually remembers my name now. I did meet a pretty lady who was in line as it went past my table. Starbuck's isn't a bad pickup spot for morning people.

I recommend this approach of getting to be known in a certain establishment before asking anyone there out.

Do note that the term "close" means "close the deal" as in there is something that was opened. My goal was to have her call me by name first, and I just achieved that finally.

This morning when I walked in there were two girls, her serving and another girl at the register. The girl at the register said "Hello Neil, would you like a (my drink)?" and I said yes and she said "Courtney will have that right up for you" and Courtney said "Here you go, Neil!". So she finally called me by name, but unfortunately there was a lady standing between us as she handed me my drink.

So I never saw her again. I hated to do it, but yesterday I asked about her and they said she moved back to her home state, and confirmed that she did have two kids. I never showed her the drawing.

In an ironic twist, I met a girl who is a hostess at a restaurant this weekend and we hit it off. She also works at (the second closest) Starbuck's. She also has 2 kids. She said she works there for the benefits. I just stopped by and saw her.
