Personally, gym is a chore for me as well. But a necessary evil for sports conditioning, physique etc. So those are my own motivations, which I appreciate not everyone has.
My trainer is like the brother I never had, showing me the way to the promised land of unlimited pvssy (and health). I can see it now. This explains the difference between good days and bad days.

A week ago my girlfriend saw me for the first time in 30 days and I had been working out the whole time. She was under the weather so we only hugged, but I expected to see the effect of a delayed reaction.

Sure enough, last night she watched the Super Bowl with me and for the first time she said the words "I love you" (She and I had indirectly said it on NYE, but not in those cliche words). She told me I am one in a million and that she never loved any man as much as me in her life.

We then had the best sex we've ever had. I asked her after what the difference was and she said my face and body just look so much better now. It's hard to believe the results. I had originally started working out knowing it was my only real hope to keep a 21 year old HB9. It only took 7 weeks and my dreams came true. With a Super Bowl win to boot!

Good on you man. Good news stories are so few and far between here lately.

Found similar but different the last couple of months. I actually lost a couple of kilos over Christmas somehow, and then maybe a couple more since. Belly now much flatter and jawline more defined. Getting way more attention attention on a daily basis. Probably even lost muscle mass over all, but just being leaner makes a lot of difference.

What do you think have been you biggest physical improvements since you started @bigneil ?

Physical trainers are definitely not a waste of money. It gives you incentive to workout more to get your money's worth and they teach you stuff you may not have known before. Besides, I hate coming up with my own workouts too lol.

I never really knew what to do. Also, I'm too lazy without him forcing me to skip a step.

I think I learned that the words "I love you" (from your dream girl) are born out of her pure physical attraction to you, which comes from health, which comes from diet and some (but not too much) hard physical work. 3 hours per week!

Yes! A lot of them are in the moment and "feeling". The feelings will be stirred by your physical attraction, your swagger and your effect on others...

Those words come from a kind of epiphany they have. It is almost all done subconsciously. Not all of it is physical attraction, but it definitely plays a huge part. 3 hours per week isn't much in my opinion. When I was 14, I was doing a minimum of 7 and a half hours (sometimes 9 hours) a day. I was eating around 13,000 calories a day and got like 6 hours of sleep. Never doing that again though. I was losing weight, was tired all the time, my body probably wasn't even absorbing all the food I was eating, and I probably had adrenal fatigue now that I think about it. A typical season for me would be around 30.5 hours of exercise a week though. Currently I'm only doing 5 hours a week. Im probably gonna add another 1.5 - 2 hours soon though.

Yes, 3 hours a week is nothing. Who can't afford that? Also, it's $180 for 3 hours ($60 per hour) so affordability is an issue also. But I'm seeing great results from 3 hours per week so it shows how easy it is to get in shape. (Still about 25 workouts).

Yeah I think it depends upon how hard you are training and how used to it you are. Compared to the average person, I'm extremely physically fit. But for.my standards I suck and gotta get back to it. Gonna have to restructure my life soon...

You shouldnt be doing this for women. I started it that way and realized, yah I get more looks, and at pool parties I can pull in 20 minutes, but that's not what I like about it. I love looking at myself in the mirror and knowing "You did this. You put the work in and you look like a greek god." I've inspired many friends to get into shape and that's awesome as well. They've told me they saw me and wanted to look like I do, so I trained them and saw the transformatiom. Really rewarding.

I know mma fighters who do personal training on the side. Those morons don't know anything about health or fitness - they're just ripped from all the fight training. When hiring trainers, customers judge them by their physique, which is stupid. In what other sport do we judge coaches by their muscles? Most paying clients are fat women, anyway, who want to spend money instead of dieting. The job itself reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Peter was retarded and got a life coach. "Yay! High-Five!"

Hmm... I was already dating the hottest girl and she already liked me, and it only took 7 weeks of 3 hours per week for her to love me. I couldn't have been too far off.

There is a often fine line between the best and average.

Today I completed 4 months of working out.

Although back in October when I first took my shirt off for my girlfriend she said "you look awesome!" she says I look much better now (and this is normally when I'm at my chubbiest after wintertime). She said "it's not that you were fat before or that the texture changed, but you are so much more powerful, I can feel it".

I hadn't thought of that aspect. We don't really know our own strength, but girls we have sex with do.

And note I have achieved one goal of not losing her through the winter. In fact, she fell head over heels about 5 weeks after I started working out (and one week after seeing me with no shirt on after 4 weeks of working out, a time she had been flaky). Is this a coincidence? Working out is key.

For wrestling fans, have you seen Jindar Mahal lately? There have been accusations in the mefia that he has been juicing (which he denies, of course). Dude's gotten majorly ripped.

But he seems to suffer from the same problem The Rock used to have, stubborn fatty areas around the nipples that give him puffy looking nipples. The Rock finally had to have surgery to correct it, maybe Mahal will too, although I doubt he has The Rock's movie star aspirations.

Funny how you can build that much muscle and obviously have a low body fat percentage, but still have little problem areas that mess with all your hard work. Just goes to show that the gym isn't the answer to everything.

Just the way some people's bodies are. Rock, cena, new jinder dude.... they're all on roids.

6 months and he went from chubby to ripped animal. The size of his muscles and vascularity screams PED's. You just can't get that big that fast without help. Even all the research journals say working out and eating right you still can only out on 4-5 lbs of muscle naturally a year

Agree. Point was, these guys have put on more muscle I'm sure than most of the posters here. And even with the "help", they still had problems with their body that they had to turn to surgery to fix (not Cena that I'm aware of). Guru would approve, I'm sure :)

I just often get the impression that some guys here view pumping iron as some sort of magic pill. And maybe, for some guys, it is. Depends on exactly what the "pre-DJ" guy was lacking. Working out has many benefits, but adding some muscle isn't going to be a magic pill for a lot of guys.

I've been weightlifting for over 30 years now. I started out as a very scrawny kid, so I'm sure that the added bulk helped to increase my SMV over time (among other things). I never experienced any kind of "overnight" change from the way women treated me though. Things improved over time, as I improved in a number of areas. I'm sure the added muscularity was a factor, but it wasn't overnight, and there was more at play than that.

Unfortunately, at my age wear and tear on my joints, along with some repetition injuries, prevent me from hitting it as hard as I could when I was younger. So if I feel a little bitterness on this topic, that's likely where it from. But I really do believe that while it's a good thing to get into, it's not a magic pill.
