Truthfully, I don't know why. It's been a while since I watched anything from Muhammad Ali or boxing in general really, so it can't be that. But I just feel like getting into a fist fight, something aggressive. Also, I don't actively go out looking for fights, I never provoke any sh!tty situations either and am great at diffusing them actually. But sometimes I just start imagining getting into a fight with someone or even have dreams about it too, even if I would lose them lol. I'm not necessarily angry either, at least not consciously anyway. I think maybe because I stopped doing aggressive sports in college. Back in high school I played water polo and people played dirty all the time; we would punch, kick, sh!t-talk, drown, some would even scratch despite having to have short finger nails, and I loved all of it. Just the extreme intensity of the environment of it all. I reveled in it even though it got super exhausting at times. But not anymore. I'm wondering if maybe because I don't do anything extremely aggressive anymore. I don't have a punching bag anymore either. But yeah, I just really want to get into a fist fight with someone in a 1v1 situation. Just get it out of my system. The last time I got into a fight was probably when I was 10 or 11, and you can't really count those.

I don't know, I mean part of it is because I hear stories from my dad, uncles, and even the fathers of some friends and they all had some stories about getting into first fights. I mean this is gonna be the first generation where that stuff doesn't happen, and I just think it's sad and pathetic. I remember my mother telling me how Bill Clinton was bullied once so he punched his bully in the face, and how it didn't do sh!t to him. Then he got his ass kicked afterwards. But the thing is, he still had the guts to at throw a punch. No one else does nowadays and they all gotta 'tell a teacher' or some other bs like that, or they bring a knife or gun or something and end up killing the other guy. I can't wrestle my dad cuz he's old and tired and working or something, and my brother isn't strong enough for it to be fun. There's no more gruff, rough, and tough manliness. I need an outlet of some kind I think. But I don't think I have any time to go to a boxing or MMA gym.

Is there something in your life making you feel that aggression that you're kinda suppressing? Punching something or someone won't make the pressure you feel go away, if this is the case.

I'm fine with aggressive sports, but I think it's a bad idea to take aggression with you outside of that. I doubt most people would want more violence, me included. Especially if there's a less destructive way of resolving a situation. In case you think of inciting violence, know that there's a high risk you'll get caught. There's also a chance you could harm your opponent in a way you don't intend, leading to serious injuries and at worst death. Basically if you fight someone you risk being convicted of murder, would be a pretty dumb risk to take just to blow some steam.

So yeah, if you want to relieve your tension then at least do it legally.

one way your body knows how to release pent up aggression is to fight. Ever considered a punching bag or ball? I'm willing to bet craigslst has them cheap, dont forget the gloves. You could use an outlet

Go do mixed martial arts or something more productive with that negative energy. Channel it into a strenuous challenging activity. I am 34 and haven't ever found a reason to be in a fist fight... ever... and there is rarely ever a reason to get in a fight... even if you win, you lose...

Maybe I am suppressing something but don't fully realize it. I mean when I played aggressive sports, Inwas actually abnormally calm. The more aggressive and intense it got, the calmer and more precise I became, especially when I still played hockey. I noticed that as I got calmer during the high-intensity situations, it's almost like I was waiting for the right moment to strike. In hockey for example, I wouldn't have any facial expression, maybe even a little lazy or bored look; if someone came near me to try and check me, I would smash into them and knock them down, and if I was going towards them I would hit them full force sometimes hurt them. I broke 3 kids sticks doing that my last season lol. I was still clean though, no slashing or pushing or grabbing, just really hard checks. In water polo it got similar too; the kids would try putting their hand on my shoulder because you are allowed to do that, and I would always knock it off. Then they'd get mad and try squeezing me and oushing me down, but I was always able to maneuver my hand in such a way to give myself a leverage advantage to where they would have to let go or else risk drowning or breaking their elbow. I guess I was cunning in that sense because I stayed calm for the most part throughout the whole ordeal of it became violent with someone else. I recall a time last year in a class where me and my friends were joking around and making fun of each other. Well one girl from another table thought we were targeting a specific person and got super defensive, probably misunderstood the situation and what we were doing. I was keeping everything lighthearted even though she was cussing me and this other girl out. She said "why don't you guys just mind your own fvcking business and stop being super rude" or something like that anyway. Well I twisted it around and told her she isn't even minding her own business and is being rude too. She got mad and stood up and tried walking over to me with her first raised saying "you need to **** the fvck up right now" and at that point I couldn't play it because I saw she was super serious. My grin faded and I stood up eyeing her down. I was ready and had an adrenaline rush, but I stil was grounded and had control over myself. She backed off, probably because I was taller than her. When I sat back down I was all jittery though lol and didn't completely calm down until like 45-60 minutes later where I tried forcing myself to sleep haha.

We used to have one, but my dad threw it out when we moved even though I specifically told him NOT to. He thought I told him TO throw it out though. I got mad but whatever. He also didn't like it because we originally hooked it up in the basement on the main frame of our old house in a very unorthodox way that probably wasn't very safe. He said that whenever I'd use it, he felt the house shaking. I think he might have been exaggerating though because the chain was hitting he bar and made a really loud noise so it probably just annoyed him when I was down there. I liked it though, it was fun and it did help me blow off steam when I needed to. But I don't think we can get another one because there's not really a place to hook it up at.

I still do play a sport competitively and train for it at last 2 hours a day (excluding Sunday). 3 days a week I lift on my own time and that can vary from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Over the summer it's gonna be a lot more intense though because we got doubles, and I still want to lift on my own too. Plus work and I want to take at least 1 class over the summer too.

Writing about this got me thinking that maybe I haven't fully grown up yet. I'm not having very much 'fun' in my life right now and haven't for a little while so maybe that's why, but I need to fully engrain within myself that life isn't all about fun and games and I gotta just do my work and be done with it. Or maybe I just think too much about stuff that I shouldn't really care for and it's making me delusional :confused::confused: I think I kinda see fighting, or at least something aggressive as a way to have fun because of the adrenaline and exhilaration. I also notice that I haven't ever gone out super late with anyone lately. Like at night outside when its relatively peaceful out is when I feel really awake and alive. I haven't done anything like that in a while too. Maybe I should. But everything nowadays just consists of work, exercising, studying, and then some procrastinating which I am trying to fix now.

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

Another (cheaper) way (but requires somewhere with decent insulation) is to get tennis racket, get on your knees in front of your bed, and scream your brains at, while slamming the racket as hard as you can, over and over, while cussing the shyte out of whoever and whatever ails you. Keep at it until your throat is the limiting factor. Couple days a week oughta do the trick.

Sometimes people feel like they aren't fully awake. I feel like that all the time and haven't consistently felt fully awake since I was like 9. I do notice though that yelling wakes me up. I see some people slap themselves to wake up and get ready for race or a lifting set, and that helps a little. But for me, yelling gets me really awake and LUCID. It releases a bit of adrenaline too and I just feel really clear.

It's a bit more than yelling. It's screaming AND using most of your upper body to smash against the bed with the racket until your throat and entire upper body is exhausted. It's not mean to wake you up. It's meant to burn all your anger energy to wear you out.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you are...18? You are nowhere near being fully grown. You may be at your physical peak, but your psychological and emotional states are still pretty fragile, likely due to your decorated childhood and family. I am guessing that is where a lot of this aggression is coming from. I would suggest you begin reading a lot more and expand your mind as that is truly the way to self-improvement, to educate and learn.

It also sounds like maybe you know your happy place, so try to find it and spend more time there. You need to find a way to exhaust these overly aggressive tendencies before they manifest in the wrong place or against the wrong person.

The land of improvement
I stopped getting into fights when the last 2 times i knocked out 2 people.

I think the issue is your energy or your stress . Are you doing any sports or something competitive to release all this energy ? If not i think this is the issue .

This is just my ignorance. I didn't know Water Polo was an aggressive sport. That's funny. The more you know.

You are aware sports exists outside of school right? Most people simply play sports as an outlet. Most men have that feeling, some more than others. For me, I just go hoop for a few hours. What othet sports do you enjoy? Football? Basketball? Ultimate Frisbee? You don't want to fight, you want to compete. Pick a sport you like, join a league or a group. Git gud. Prosper.

I still got some growing to do. But it's weird though because I felt like my physical peak was when I was 16-17 for some reason. Even though I'm stronger now, I was so much more ATHLETIC then. Maybe it was my mindset because my brother (who is about a year and a half younger) is going through the same thing right now.

Yeah there's strangling, grabbing, low blows, everything. The frequency of it happening just depends on the team you are playing against and how close the game is.
I could try some other things I suppose. Gotta put myself out there...

since i'm like that too, just understand you like to fight, winning or losing you want to fight, good too since you are more likely on edge, anyone trying to start something will feel it and make things easier to defuse.

what you really need to do is do something to vent that, a punching bag, basic training, even fighting against your shadow if you had any previous train on it. also try to cehck around any kinda or martial arts, taht normally will help you plus you will get some sparring partners that helps a lot, plus the train will help you get fit.

lately i'm just doing the basic training and some punchs in the air just to keep the minimum of my fist and legs speed, helps enough, going to the gym is being my main healthy part

I want to punch most people I see right in their goddmn mouth. People svck. They're for the most part stupid, infantile, self-centered, coddled, brainwashed, smug, spoiled, etc, etc, etc.

Not worth going to jail for, but I'd really like to walk up to one of these bstrds out of the blue and smack em as hard as I could. No prelude, no explanation.

Don"t worry about it. Fvck your girlfriend harder

I just find most martial arts in the US fake and stupid af. Expensive for nothing and they don't teach you real sh!t because they're afraid of getting sued. Maybe MMA is different or something, I don't know, but all the other crap I did before was fake and useless.

Well it's a club where people are drinking and trying to AMOG all the other dudes, of course stiffness is gonna happen. I don't know man, like sometimes I just feel like I want to do some ACTION. Just DO something. And to see the amount of pvssies around me bothers me a bit too, I don't want to become like them.

When I was about as young as you were, I had the same feelings. I wanted to get into a fight and work someone over. I also wanted to get the crowd to say "Owwwwwwwww!" when I landed a right cross in some doucebag's face. There was a desire to make myself superior against another guy who clearly was acting like a douchebag. But when you do actually get into one and punch somebody in the face, and then take a few licks yourself, you realize it doesn't hurt, nor does the person receiving your punishment feel anything either.

The thing about fighting is you expect to get this satisfaction punching an a**hole in the face and putting them in check for their behavior. Like the type of satisfaction you get when that a**hole feels pain for making the mistake of acting all tough. Honestly, once you punch someone where it hurts, there's no satisfaction or a genuine rise of self-esteem. Because that guy you clocked didn't feel a thing.

Fighting generally makes the whole situation more sh!t and you gain whole lot of unwanted consequences. But that doesn't answer the OP's question I don't think.

The question that is being asking is how do you deal with the feeling of getting into a fight? My answer is do something that's extremely difficult to do and get frustrated with it. Why you ask? Because when you're young and inexperienced with life, you start wanting things that you can't get. And the human emotion has a funny way of signalling you that need isn't being met.

For instances, you can take that "negative" energy and channel it into learning the guitar. Those urges to pop someone with a glass jaw in the mouth can be translated into a power chord that will satisfy that primal instinct (and maybe make a few panties wet)

Or that desire to put that fool in a rear-naked choke and telling him to go to sleep can also be stroked by smashing someone's objection into buying a new car.

The best part is, instead of literally putting someone down, you're creating a win-win for both parties. You both got that satisfaction you thought you could get from kicking the **** out of each other.

Oh one more thing... why imagine kicking someone ass, when you could imagine making them look like a dumbass? Isn't that the whole point of fighting? To make the other person look like an idiot?

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.
