"43% of married men report they are very happy!" hmmm that doesn't support my research. They must of asked that question in front of their wives.

If you think you have found your unicorn and can make it work, by all means try it. Just realize it has a better chance of failing than it does succeeding. Whatever you do, be smart about protecting your assets.

i've been married for almost 4 years now and i can easily say it's the 2nd best decision i ever made in my life. but i found the right woman for me. i know some dudes that i can easily say marrying their wives was the worst decision of their lives.

do things on your time table, do what you want to do not what you feel you hae to do. i proposed only when i wanted to. don't ever let a woman pressure you into doing anything you don't want to do yourself.

I wouldn't put much stock on articles like this, like any stats they put it can be made out of they ass or just a bought research to give the results(remember the hilary wiining without problem? :p ). plus we can work with that number like this, they say 43% of marriage guys are happy, 2 things here, they are or lieing (with most will do jsut to save face) or really happy with it but there is no way to know for sure, also funny enough the most stable and happy marriage I know was from guys who normally says it was a mistake to marry his wife, or she forced his aprents to marry her, they do it in a joking way and most likely in front of said wife, but they don't say the excatly number and I bet the already divorced was not included in such % of the unhappy ones(so the really happy even with lieing ones could be a lot lower)

what I can notice too, is the focus on men making the sacrifice, like it was only him who could make it work or not the female there is no blame on this failed marriage(like always), also knowing the goverments are really scared of this lack of marriages, since single guys tend to not spend too much, can live well even when frugal really make a serious dent on economy on how they want to work, plus the whole low birth rates on certain countrys.

all in all, its a gamble.

You want marriage? Buy a brand new Mercedes Benz. The upkeep is costly like marriage, but the car is that much more reliable than a wife.

Getting married was a great decision for me. I never bought a ring, though. We just went to the courthouse. We divorced seven years later, but I still don't regret the decision to marry her. Her family is rich, and I made a lot of money out of the deal. We still keep in touch. She called me yesterday.

more than anything else, what bothers me about marriage is my personal experiences with women that had low interest if not outright cheating, yet still wanted me to ask them to get married.
Yeah, I went back home this summer for a friend's wedding. I've known him since we were both in preschool together and he's always been an easy going, quiet reserved type of guy. I hadn't met his wife before the rehearsal but the moment she strutted into the church I had this awful feeling in my gut because she clearly was there for the show and not because she actually liked my friend. She snapped at him to throw his shoulders back during the rehearsal and I'll never forget the way she described how he proposed to her at the rehearsal dinner at the table we were at. She acted annoyed with him and was even poking fun at him for how nervous and awkward he was proposing. I was furious but kept my mouth shut. I just felt awful for my friend. But again, under the guise of marriage and this fantasy world a-lot of people float through in life it was all fine.

I was back home again for Christmas and had lunch with him (he's been married for I guess about 6 months now) and he's already telling me about the fights and her nagging him. Again, I kept my mouth shut and I truly and genuinely hope things work for him but if the day ever comes where this woman hurts him and does something like what we read about online here all the time or some of us have actually experienced first hand I had better not ever come within arm's length of her again because I'm not sure I'll be able to contain myself. My friend is too good of a guy for that crap.

But to your point, I'm just amazed at how important appearances are to some people. Lives, families, careers, children, companies, etc. just destroyed in the name of appearances. It's just unbelievable.

Those stats are horseh1t. I'd ask any guy that says he's happy in his marriage to tell me about it again in 5 then 10 then 15years. The real stats is that there is 76% chance you will get divorceraped because law is against men and you thought She Wasn't Like The Rest© and you were naïve believing you lived in fairyland. Oh and the other 24% might have just not yet divorced, gotta understand that.
The only marriage that would make sense is with a richer women than you. If you reallllllly have to cause you think all that feminine imperative bull**** make sense somehow, get a prenup at the very least!!!

There is no way I am ever getting married. My happiness is too important. Sorry
