I think this is natural. Too often people often spout cliches about how "there are no regrets, only lessons". Just fluffy rubbish. But for the MOST successful among us, who really do live such busy lives that they forgot their past entirely, we all do what you described.
And you'd be surprised about the emboldened sentence, in my opinion, about how they all forgot about you. A lot of people fake an extreme attitude of nonchalance. Guys have their entire game "gimmick" based on that personality style, and girls do it too, sort of like a humblebrag. Meanwhile, they're all creeping on you and 20 others from high school also, whoever the hell pops into their mind.
I used to do this and realized while normal, how unproductive it was. I no longer even have a Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and never had an Instgram. Feels better this way. I am even heavily tempted to downgrade permanently from a smartphone down to a basic phone with no internet capabilities, because of the unconscionable amount of time squandered on stuff like this. A laptop in the home is one thing, but having the internet with you everywhere is a recipe for disaster.
In my opinion the top 5 features of a smartphone that'd be hardest to let go of:
1. GPS
2. Camera
3. Mobile check deposits (no more driving to the branch)
4. Bluetooth front door app (I can get in my apartment without my keys)
5. Quick and easy emails
But even a lot of basic phones (like the rugged Kyocera ones) have sufficient camera, GPS and email functionality. What do you think about ditching the smartphone
@speed dawg so as to not waste so much time on this? After all social media is the root cause of it all.
