My compliments to the fight choreographer for including all those crotch shots. Fighting multiple attackers is actually possible, but the real life way to do it involves mostly running, so you don't look nearly as cool as in the movies. Basically, you run to the end of the line of guys facing you so all of them are behind one guy, then you have about a second and a half to fight him one on one before everyone moves and forms the line in front of you again. I've done it in training as a conditioning drill. The energy required is similar to sprinting. Most people can't last more than a minute or so.

I love how the media demonizes Cruz for not seeing his daughter, Suri, saying that he is choosing "Scientology" over his own daughter. No, I think that it has more to do with the "ex" making it difficult to even KNOW his own daughter. She probably, like MOST ex-wives, feeds the children negative stuff about their dad. So Nicole, Penelope, and Whoever his lastest ex-wife is can't remember, ALL fvckin made it difficult for him to be the man in the relationships. It happened to my dad. It happened to my brother (who looks/acts like Cruise, from the same era, the 80s, well into six figures in sales). ALL had/have at least 2 ex wives and plus here and there LTR girlfriends. It's the MALE who is demonized, yet the FEMALES who can't be Lived with without the bullsh!t 24/7. Our grandparents had it different before women's lib. Women were kept in the dark and played their roles as housewives. It's just simply not the case anymore. I can't tell you how many times my Papa (granddad) used to deny my grandma's buying ANYthing. When he caved in the end to buy a new house (big mistake) both their healths went down shortly after. He knew what was right, but she kept on picking. She wanted to "entertain" people better with a "new house" and kitchen etc. There was NOTHING wrong with their old house, had a nostalgia to me, at least. I even hated that they even knocked out a wall in the old house to make the den bigger. I wanted to remember it as I had remembered it as a child with trainsets and buggys and other toys in the entryway.

Women should have never been allowed to VOTE or to much say in many matters serious. Old school is the ONLY school.

Very interesting BB... I guess that makes sense... Thats the thing about the movies versus real life I always found to be different. In the movies if there's one guy fighting a group they usually fight someone one at a time.. then when he beats the one guy, another guy moves in and so forth... But I always figured in real life a group of people would all be attacking you at the same time. I guess if we were ever in that unfortunate scenario best bet is to run to the front of the line and throw either a groin kick or a punch to the nose?

I'm not a hooker!
Oh, then I really can't afford you.

Brilliant line. I remember laughing at that in the theatre.
Yes lol I also like the line "what I mean is the cheapest woman tends to be the one you pay for"

The reason I like this scene is not so much him kicking everyone' ass but I think his whole demeanor throughout the scene just reeks of authentic confidence. He doesn't try to boast or cluck his feathers.. he knows what he is capable of and almost yawns at the routine of it.

Knowing that you are scripted to kick five guys' @ss with barely any effort doesn't hurt either :)

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

if i'm not mistaken samurais used to it when they was in a numeric disavantage, pretty much you run, since they will not all run at the same speed you stop finish one then run again, and yeah its really tiresome, other ways to do it, is run to a narrow corridor, or stay behind a door way in such a way only one will pass , worse case, in a room corner, the idea is use they number against then. in 300 they also said such when the soldiers used the mountain pass to reduce the persian army number on then.

but in the whole alpha kinda here, most of the jack reacher is like he is the complete badass, who can see everything, is well over the edge on the whole, that is pretty much how he sell his image, he as a eprson I really don't think it is good, or have a good head anyway, I wouldn't take films as good ways to follow, you can sure learn a thing or 2, but as long you don't copy and understand well enough to not make a fool of yourself

Yep. If something works in a real fight, it probably came from Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, which is the art of the Samurai.

I know just from friendly training that it is an unpleasant experience to get punched by three people at once. It's like trying to box a centipede. Two arms are not going to out-box six arms, even if you're Mayweather. So you never, ever want to stand face to face with more than one person long enough for both of them to hit you at the same time. Two morons attacking in unison are better than one skilled fighter, which is the difference between real life and the movies.

In a real life fight, he would have been hit in the back of the head by one of the guys following him the movement he stepped out that bar. Never turn your back on someone who wants to fight you.

The scene from Collateral is even more hilarious. Only in the movies are you going to see a white gang robbing a black man at gunpoint...and in LA of all places.

Some people have eyes in the back of their heads, my co-workers, basketball players who can pass well. Scotsmen are said to have a sixth sense. As you get older you lose most of that though. I'm living proof. My dulling of the my senses (I can accelerate my senses now if I aim to focus and try hard) are brought upon by myself because I "just don't care" and not caring because there's not much left you care to have pleasure in because you've already experienced them. When you get what you want (or what you thought you wanted) your senses become dulled do to carelessness.

that dulling is more about lack of practice then really you getting old, I normally can sense people behind me, mostly because I can heard they walking or breathing, I had to fight sometimes in a closed circle with several guys trying to hit me, more then once, I learned what to do on this situation, one was run to a corner, or pass a door way to prevent they superior number be a problem to me or run to a corridor to do the same, but when I couldn't break from the circle fast enough I would keep my back against the lights and see they shadows, you see someone trying to hit your back you can see and act.

I know most people here are not that willing to train and keep training it, but I say it pays to keep your senses sharp don't matter the place
