Are American women so hypergamous that even NFL players have fat wives?

I was looking at the article which has some pictures of the players and their family at "family day" at training camp, and was struck that I saw a player had a rather chunky wife.

It seems to me that on a quite a few levels, an NFL player should be viewed by women as very desirable (great income, very athletic, generally tall, winner at life, admired by hoards of female fans, etc.), and hence one would think that these men would marry properly trim women. But then I thought that maybe American woman are this hypergamous. Egads!

Which ones the better catch? We have to get pass this looks thing. They don't matter that much in regards to ltr/marriage. You'd be foolish to marry or get in a relationship because of a womans looks.

I have a good friend who is a well regarded NFL football player. Every year, I attend his pool party where several of his fellow team members show up with their girls. You know who usually has the hottest chic?......lol, its Howiestern who makes a tenth of what they do, is way shorter, way smaller, hardly any muscles, and has no high profile career. Go Figure!
