Look for a job like a job. It will be much easier tho to interview and such if you are in the vicinity of where you plan on living. But you can do a lot with careerbuilder, indeed, monster searches and you can use Skype for the interview. Tell them you will relo yourself if they won't do it.

I make similar to a teacher lol and my friends are making or kissing right at 50k. Was your job not the greatest because of pay or was it a 3PL or just a **** job lol? I hate to say but we didn't get some cozy 50k corporate office job at Deloitte or something because we aren't white lol. I have frat brothers and friends that got hired at places like Fedex with the same gpa and no internship experience. The whole business structure is literally set up for privileged White Americans. I realized if I kept at this industry I was always going to be behind my peers when my drug dealing friend got 50k job at a corporation. It literally struck my ego, but there's nothing I can do about it. He has the same coding experience as me that was on my resume and this mofo got actually got hired. That's why I'm switching fields to IT or something more data analytical based. I actually am doing some coding at my job, so hopefully this helps lol. Hopefully you have a great job making 80k and this proves me wrong

Dhoulmagus, nothing is impossible. The job market is tough, and the odd's may be stacked against you. It is not, however, impossible for you to succeed. Learning to be happy within yourself regardless of anything material would do you a world of good. Happiness is a state of mind.

You need to believe in yourself & your capabilities. You took a calculated risk by moving out to the sticks to gain experience in your role, that takes a lot of balls!

You have accepted that the route you are headed down is not a productive one and have said you would love a job in an urban area. Make it your mission to achieve this, do not be deterred.

Yes, but I miss out on opportunities and there's no incentive to stay here other than experience.

Like you, I took the risk and thought I could do it. I think I can say that I gave it 6 months and it's not for me. I've never been to Hartford, but I can see it being bad. The Northeast is only great if you are a tourist or some old money WASP person lol. Atlanta is one of the cities I'm aiming for because I have friends and connections there. Plus, it is a 3 hour drive away from my family instead of a 700 dollar plane trip or 2 day trip.

Fargo is too far away and the town is unappealing. 3 hours might not sound too bad when you don't have to work 40-50 hours 5 days a week.
