She could very likely be pregnant and need/want help covering the cost of an abortion. Only looking at the finances, the cost to help pay for an abortion is much less than the 18+ years of child support you'd be obligated to pay, if indeed a child was yours. Certainly consider both short term and long term risks/implications, not just the potential money out of your pocket now.

For some reason, with this one, my immediate sense was to recommend that you be especially careful and make sure she's not trying to scam you for money. I know it's a horrible thought that someone would do that. It's what first came to mind with her. I, personally had never before had even considered/or heard that a woman would do that. The idea is shocking to me. If you choose to help pay, only hand funds over to a facility directly (or by phone). Do not give her cash/payment.

I imagine a facility will gladly accommodate your paying all or a portion with a credit card by phone. For further privacy or if you didn't have a credit card, you can always buy one of those disposable "credit cards" at a grocery store and use that number. Long story short, do not give her cash. If you pay by credit card, over the phone, only do so upon calling a well known/published phone number for a facility. Scammers can be really sneaky. Take responsible action yet be careful.

My instinct is so distrusting of this woman, for some reason. Be careful.

She can show you a picture of a positive pregnancy test or even a positive test stick, that isn't actually hers.

If she has been sleeping with multiple guys, how many is she now asking to help pay for her abortion, real/or not?

Best insurance is, if you are going to help pay, only interact with a facility directly.

Quickest way to verify is for him to buy a pregnancy test kit. They meet up. She pees in a cup. He dips the test stick himself, or hands it to her to do in front of him, and then he watches to see, with his own eyes, if the results come up positive or negative. 1 pee from her, plus 3 minutes and he can verify for himself.
