I consider this guy one of my friends for not very long actually. The other day he invited me for a couple of drinks with some of his friends.
This was a great opportunity to get to know new people and enlarge my social circle. So i went.

In the end we were 4 people: Him, myself, a mutual friend (girl), and another girl i didn't know.

Off we went and had a great time. Turned out this girl lives in a village just down the road from mine. I chatted with her a bit during the night, which kind of sparked my interest.

Now i would like to get to know her better but don't want to wait until we go out with this mutual friend again. We didn't exchange numbers or anything, just added her on facebook (I know some here might say bad idea but there is really no other way of making contact).

I would like to know what the best way to handle this would be.

i would just message her saying you had fun last night , and say you would like to do it again sometime

try and insert some humor into it too if you can , perhaps a little dig at something she did (in a funny way)

Should i go for a date immediately? Maybe going for like a hang out with other people around would be less pressure and we could get more comfortable around each other before an actual date.

Update:

Just got back from hanging out with this a girl and a friend. Had a good time, a lot of good laughs. She seemed more relaxed and open towards me than the first time.

On the way home in the car i was talking to our mutual friend, saying that im going to host a party end of the month and that everybody from the area i know is invited. She suddenly asked :"Me too?" (Must have sparked at least a little interest in her lel)

I replied: "Mmmh we'll see about that"
It came out so naturally i'm actually quite proud lol

As they dropped me off i asked for her number before leaving the car and she gave it to me.

Ding ding, round 3: first date.

Here is the deal: she hangs out alot with the guy i call our mutual friend, and now i have started hanging out with him as well.
So it is likely we will see each other next week end again.
Now i have her number, i will follow what i learned in the bible and give it a few days before texting her. This would put a possible date around next w-e end. But since it is likely i will see her then anyway i am not quite sure how to proceed because in this case it doesn't fall in the same category as getting a date with a women i just met.
