Currently I have been texting a girl with the intention of asking her out, but after 5-6 texts from each side she seems to be trying to keep conversation going by asking questions etc...

Good or bad?

I am worried i am becoming her text buddy..... actually i rarely text her so i am quite surprised.

Good, she has high enough interest in you to want to get your attention and learn more about you. You need to ask her out asap though. Ideally you want to limit text conversations and focus on going out on dates. Some guys can use a lot of conversation to build greater trust, comfort and attraction with a girl, but ideally it is better to limit it as things can go very wrong too.

Don't be unnatural about it though, at this point you've set a "norm" so cutting it all off, would stand out too much. Just take your time in replying sometimes and try to reduce the texting, unless you feel it is really productive and building rapport.

Allright, but I have known this girl for a while and she is lets say partially from my social circle. I am also seeing her tomorrow at an event which she asked me if i am going to before, But it's not a date.

The thing is i never really tried to get to know her better or anything so ill give it a go and see what happens.

Also i initiated the conversation earlier today

Common sense. If a girl asks questions means she wants to know more about you, and she has some interest in you. Don't blow it away. Don't spend too much time texting and talking on the phone with her. You should do most of that talking when you meet her in person.

Ask her to hang out and make your move.

Texting is not for having conversations.. it is for setting up a time to meet face to face.

When you're spinning plates (like you should be) there is no time to text women for hours. If she isn't available to meet, then its on to the next plate. Stop wasting your own time.

Gotta watch out, more time texting means she has your attention away from other stuff and can also shot test through text and catch you off guard. Take for example this one I got today..... Seriously women these days. Ask to hang out and they just Fick with you....

What was odd is even though I was taking time to respond (between 10min and 30min) she was answering almost instantly (<5 min).

I am seeing her tonight, it's not a date but it will be enough to see how she acts in person and then take it farther.

It´s obviously that the girl is into you, instead of worrying about the text game take advantage when you see her in person.

P.s: Don´t take the time to answer a girl, unconsciously you are giving her importance that she don´t deserve, just answer when you have free time and start doing some other stuff for your own good.

Well not really because we are both going to a local event. In other words I'm going there with the boys, she is going with her friends.

Good - she's interested
Bad - she's prob low quality

To pursue a guy so much that she hasn't met, she's likely naïve (immature) and doesn't have much going for her

She does know me, we have known each other for a couple of years.
Just never in a romantic way.

A couple years? You're going to have be very keen on taking initiative if you want to get out of the friend zone

It's not a date and you want to see if she likes you or makes a move... sounds like a good way to stay in the friend zone
