Defining an unnatractive guy as creepy based on if he shows interest but doesnt do anything wrong – it’s just unkind. It’s sort of nasty. That’s my take on that.
On the other hand, if a guy is really full on, if he acts or speaks inappropriately to a woman to the point where she feels uncomfortable or scared, then calling him creepy is more justifiable.
So creepy is a new male shaming technique, not a way to select the good from the "bad", but more of a way to shun, hummiliate men that are not so good looking or dont have a full wallet of money. It even goes to the extreme of the guy being creepy just for the fact he exists. He may not approach or talk to a woman but he is considered creepy nonetheless. Why? Because it's trendy for females to call ugly/unnatractive males creepy nowadays.
Does being called / branded as creepy propel men towards self-improvement and progress?
IMHO i think it makes the guy feel worse and leads more often to depression and sometimes suicide than it leads to self development. How does it help an awkward guy with low self esteem when he’s compared to a rapist or a child molester or a stalker just for not having confidence in talking to women or being unattractive or even both?
If he already has a sense that every woman sees him and treats him that way, as a low value man (as disgusting and categorically unworthy of validation), it just drives that insecurity even deeper.
If you’re unattractive, you’re a “creep”, it’s “Harassment” or you're " stalking me"
If you’re attractive, you’re just “flirting”!
I'm Portuguese and this happens everywhere, not just in the US.
