Something that I noticed is that people tend to be more intimidated/respectful of me after I lift. Like say I lift on Monday morning, then on Tuesday people tend to look intimadated at me more. Some people here say that if they go through a drought with women, then they have sex with one, the next day a lot of people, especially women, end up turning heads like they can sense that the guy is wanted. It's like the same thing here, except more with guys. A lot of them tend to analyze me more (especially the more 'alpha', competitive type of guys) and some ask me "do you lift?" not in an insulting way, but as a serious question. And then a few almost feel threatened like 'holy ****, he's getting bigger than me' or something. The thing is though, I'm not that big or anything. I'm a lot more toned than 95% of the people that I meet, but I'm not exactly a 'big' guy. I don't mean for this to sound like I'm bragging or anything, but has anyone else experienced something like this?

Whoever told you this sh!t is lying to you, it's like girls that spend a good amount of $$$$ on Victoria Secret underwear, they are the only ones that know they are wearing them.
I mean, a lot of it is psychological. If you think wearing a certain kind of underwear makes a difference... it probably will. It's the placebo effect.

As for lifting or getting laid, that could increase your confidence and put you in a better mood.

When you lift, blood fills your muscles and you get what is called "the pump". This can make your muscles look significantly larger for hours. On a subtle level you might be putting out different scents and pheromones after lifting. Your testosterone will also spike upwards, which might change your mentality and facial expressions.

One time I was giving a presentation in class and this guy put up his hand and asked me if I lifted, it was completely off topic. The answer is yes I lifted, I had been in jail for five years and I was built like a brick house (still am). But I'm also very toned. Maybe people notice, maybe some people like it. If I saw you, I'd probably gun you off lol.

I see what you are saying, but people will always make a comment the day after I lift. It's more than just a placebo, though maybe that is a part of it.

I dont look big because I have very little fat and fat is what makes a dude look bigger. I'm pretty toned so I don't look big. I'm not trying to get big though. Look up Usain Bolt. He looks long and lanky as hell if he were to wear a sweater or something. But the dude is still ripped as heck. He's just not BIG.

I know about the muscle punp, but it doesn't last into the next day. The day of, people notice a bit, but the day AFTER is when people notice the most.

No, muscle makes you look big. Fat makes you look fat.

I've definitely noticed this too but I can also understand why people are getting mad in this thread.
You aren't trying to imply your muscles are bigger and people are intimidated by you in the same way they would be if you were fully shredded, after years dedicated to lifting, but you still notice a difference in the way people act around you. It happened to me too.

I think it's because of the sudden influx of testosterone and/or the way you carry yourself after a good workout. It may be subtle, but you're exuding a stronger masculine presence. Like a few people have already said, your muscles do get temporarily bigger shortly after a workout which also helps.

Does lifting make you "stronger" I ask cause all these dudes who lift are not as strong as me and I am not going full strength.....football basketball ETC. There are these 2 huge dudes who play basketball at the gym with me I'm only 5'10 185 and these dudes are 6'2 and 6'5 swoll as hell like real swole. And I am stronger than them, I grab rebounds out there hands, swing them off me, take it to the rim with my shoulder and knock them down, run through their screens, ETC. Had one random dude say damn dude your strong as hell, I don't lift and have body fat

Yes, I did notice this.

Case Study:

I lifted from November - December because my work gym had barbells. I wrote a post about it then and had women coming out of the woodwork. I had a harem of women at one bar and chose my favorite from the litter.

1) December 31 - Last day at contract - last day lifting - met HB8+ who was all over me. Also met HB9.
2) January 2 - Saw HB8 again, she was mad that we hadn't already gotten together on NYE.
3) January 8 - Saw HB8 again for first real date. Things went well.
4) January 11 - HB8 came to my house. Got to 3rd base and probably could have gotten further. But things weren't as good as the day we met.

(Note it had been 11 days since I lifted)

4b) January 15 - HB9 gave me her number.
5) January 18 - HB8 flaked on third date.

(Note it had been 18 days since I lifted)

6) January 23 - Picked up HB7 who worshipped me and had sex right away. HB9 was writing a lot.
7) February 8 - Got together with HB8 again and got to third again, and roommate came home. She didn't write to me after the date.
8) February 22 - Spent night in hotel with HB8 and things fizzled out and she went cold at random, right when she was about to do it.
9) February 23 - I ended relationship with HB8 but also got LJBF jab after.

(Note it had been 54 days since I lifted. I tried doing push ups but it wasn't the same)

10) February 24 - HB7 flaked also.
11) February 25 - HB9 flaked also.

(Note it had been 56 days since I lifted)

Synopsis:

Women will not only respond to your lifting, but if you stop, things will fizzle out with the same women within 3 to 8 weeks.

Result:

I spent $650 and bought a set of Cap barbells 5lb - 50lb (20 pieces) and I lift every day now. Still in my spring slump but I normally break out every May.

Muscle alone doesn't make you look bigger. Fat does. Only if a person is morbidly obese do they actually look really fat.
You are confusing having a lack of body fat with actually having muscle.

I don't know about it having a difference the day after but as someone who has had periods of lifting on and off, it certainly makes a difference overall.

A couple of examples off the top of my head:

1) old oneitis saw me for the first time in months after I'd been lifting for a good while and basically gave up the poon that I never got near when I was skinnyfat

2) guy who used to tease me and be very ****y around me bumped in to me around the same time and acted totally different and didn't even attempt a joke

3) girls compliment me a lot on social media photos, specifically "those arms" and heart eye smilies etc.

4) never get any grief in town, in my skinny fat days I often would get guys trying to intimidate me, shoulder barge me, try amog me etc. This has NEVER happened since I gained 20lb lean over the course of the year, not been amog'd once, nobody has ever tried to intimidate me, guys move out of my way etc, it just doesn't happen (reason being the guys that do that are insecure cowards and intimidated by guys who look like they could do damage in a fight)

And yes, this has an effect on your confidence. Everyone just treats you better and it can't help but boost your confidence.

People (who don't lift) always criticize it and naysay it but it works, I think any true DJ should make being strong and in shape a priority

Some people are genetic freaks. Also, there's different ways of lifting too. You can get bigger without getting stronger and vice versa. Some exercises allow a person to benefit more of the 'functional' strength that raider was talking about. Plus, you may ave more experience in sports in general.
You have functional strength. To me a useful body is a good looking body. Stick to your strengths.
How exactly do you build this 'functional' strength?

Form follows function. Therefore, first and foremost, be strong. Get up early. Have energy. Feel healthy. Show up on time. Work hard. Deliver on your promises.

If you happen to look good doing it, great, but you definitely won't look good being weak, sleeping late, having no energy, feeling unhealthy, showing up late, not working hard and not delivering.

What kills me is observing how attractive women in their 's 20's, 20 years my junior, are already dealing with health issues. Every girl has some "girly" issue. Allergies, Endometriosis, Bulimia, HPV, Depression, Bipolarity, UTI's, or worse.

Shouldn't young people be healthier than an old man like me?

My Tanita Ironman bodyfat scale summarizes the body types well, using a rating of 1-9. It makes a 3x3 grid. On the worst corner (a 1) a person has lots of fat, and no muscle. On the far corner ( a 9) a person has little fat and lots of muscle. All combinations are represented. Over the 6 years I've had it, I've seen my rating (which started a 5) go as low as 2 (49% water, 25% fat) and as high as 9 (60% water, 8% fat). This explains why on some days women throw themselves at me and some days they run.

Women are like human bodyfat scales.
