For years now I've wondered whether things really are "different" in other places or if it like I think it is, is just vacation-tinted glasses.

Almost anywhere people from this country go, they tell me it's so much more socially open and warm in other countries. Americans are easy to talk to and social. Chilean girls flirt with you. Thailanders go out to meet people and have fun together with everyone and aren't so insular or pretentious. Africans are really chill and hospitable people. Immigrants tell me about the women here - they are cold and unfeminine. You get the point. The only things people do like about Sweden is the relatively well-oiled society like free university, relatively good quality food, relative ease of dealing with authorities and such. Everyone agrees that this place is socially cold (until it's time to pretend otherwise, like when you're going out clubbing).

I specifically feel like I don't live in a culture where you are supposed to do stuff like flirt or socialise with people who aren't in your clique or as we would say, "social circle". Like I can be as extroverted as I want to with girls I know, but girls who are strangers don't even look at me when I try to make eye contact.

My question is have you guys experienced any real social differences between countries? are these people dreaming? In Sweden it's very popular to think that this place is basically the abyssal zone of the social ocean. It's funny to me when I read sites like Happierabroad that describe the exact same things I identify here as being the case in America, yet people from here say America is socially warmer (though this thread is about the phenomenon in general, not any particular country).

Never been to Sweden but I already heard that people there are really cold and unwelcoming in general. But it's pretty much the same in Hungary and Iceland, so not an exception.

Japan and New Zealand was 2 countries I felt so much more welcome than anywhere I went to, and they did not need my money. So it was pretty altruistic I think.

When I was in New York I found out that people were really cool and welcoming. I really loved my time there. Drank a lot of beer with stranger. Cool place to be! But couldn't make the girl come up to my hotel room. B*tch!

Still, it is really hard to tell anything when you are a tourist or traveller because of the vacation-tinted glass you have on. When I travel, I always try to stay by local people and not in hotel or hostel. It really give me a better and larger vision of the country (and sometime a larger penis as well).

But I think it is more cultural so you can have isolated cultural spot with nice people even in countries where there are only jerks and b*tches everywhere.

I live in central Europe and here, people are OK. Some are really welcoming, some are xenophobist. But I think most are nice. Girls are b*tches like pretty much anywhere else in the world. They are cold, unfeminine, manipulative, unsecure, etc... Well, at least, the ones I know, so it's biased statistics, or not.

Infact i would go as far as saying pu$$y here is worshipped, it is perhaps the most expensive commodity in the country and because of this women have become more and more difficult to deal with as the years have gone on

In the 20 years of my life , i have lived in 4 different countries, Greece , Switzerland, Austria, Germany. Currently i live in Germany.

In Greece the people are more like idgf attitude but very helpful if you want some help without them asking anything in return. Great hospitality as well and the only place from all 4 to be able and have fun yourself outside in a club 7 days a week and the only where if you go at 21:00 out it's completely dead but from 00:00 is full of life till early in the morning. Chicks there have high resistance ***** shield but they are very loyal and good when you fcking them.

In Austria(Wien) people are great. Very polite and also great hospitality. I found it very interesting that you could have high level conversations with them and everybody knows a 2nd language (the same in Greece ). The chicks there were most of them very classy and somehow easy to pick. Wien it's my favourite city in Europe.

In Switzerland i don't have good impressions. The swiss have a "I'm swiss( meaning I'm rich) and everybody is lower than me " attitude .
Meanwhile that's not the same for everybody but most of the percentage ,people are like this. They are not rude but you understand through their attitude that they do not consider you equal. Except if they know you for long time ,it's very hard for them to open up . Funny guys nevertheless. Chicks are again easy to fck but in my opinion they are not worth of ltr.

In Germany the people are very open , funny to talk with but they don't have great manners. Considering I'm greek and the current situation, they don't like us too much but thankfully i have money and I'm with high class people so i don't have experienced any racism from them. The chicks are very easy and my personal favourites to have sex with. They are more open minded and i like that.

In Austria,Switzerland and Germany you can have fun outside in a club or so only on Fridays and Saturdays. Also there are not many places that you can hang out not to mention in Switzerland and in Wien is fcking expensive to have drink.

In the last 3 countries the men are a bit more down ,i mean women will go in many occasions their way . In Greece ,the men have the MGTOW mentality and women are not in the same levels as in the German speaking countries talking about the current feminist trends that you guys are talking about.
I think it has to do with the sun because Italians have the same attitude as in Greece.

I believe the country counts as much as who you are.

A tall white woman in England will surely have a different treatment from a short indian man from both men and women, the other way around in india.

I agree with guys here said about germany, despite the stereotypes they are friendly and their women easy going, austrian girls are very pleasable to deal with.

As a general rule I avoid the politically correct places, they are full of sh1t in general if they need laws to regulate social behaviour, even more for men.

The people tend to be more reserved in colder countries. Take north America as an example. Just based on what I've read here, Mexicans are friendlier than the southern states. Southern states are friendlier than the northern stated and the northern friendlier than Canadians.

I guess that could be it. Finland imports around 10-20 000 immigrants a year which is the same number that emigrates so if you're not white you'd probably stand out. Sweden by contrast started importing over a hundred thousand immigrants a year, years ago, and the rate has only been increasing since then with a record high immigration wave right now. Not only would this cause an enormous surplus of males but it would also mean an end of the "exotic" factor, especially when/where there is backlash against the immigration. When I went to Estonia last year that's something I noticed very clearly. There are very few foreign-looking people in Tallinn, Stockholm by contrast when I got back looks like a UN base or something.

My god. It's unhealthy to open up sites like OKC or Badoo and go browse the girls in places like Brazil. They blow the ones here out of the water, no matter what kind of girl you want. Though admittedly latina americans tend to have a look to them that hits my sweet spot, but I mean look at them, it can't only be me right? I bet they're more pleasant too just as a final kicker... I actually get somewhat depressed every time I do this because it reminds me how sh!tty things are here in that regard, even if it's better with other things like relatively accessible education. Hey man, if you think Sweden is bad come to Vancouver. Even Roosh can't get laid in here, even if they let him in the country first! I am actually jealous of dudes down south, better-looking friendlier chicks and easier! I am from eastern Europe and lived here for 14 years. My first impression of local women was how ugly on average they are, yet how highly they are praised and put on the pedestal by men and governing institutions. From my travelling experience I can tell you that there is a strong correlation between the country's standards of living and the cost of pus$y. The more developed the country is the easier it is for women to get away with their sh!t, the deeper the feminism has entrenched itself into the fabric of relationships. Even some of the lesser developed places in Latin America are seeing more and more feminazi influence (female conceite) because women are same everywhere all over the world and they want the same things! BUT.... there is less available to them. So when they see you, it's like a breath of fresh air- you are exotic, a stranger, and a traveller - that's all excitement and DHV. It's up to you to put yourself geographically in a place like that wherever that may be. One thing is that there are also cultural differences, these foreign women will love you fast and then hate you faster because of the culture.
