Has anyone here done this? It's something that I'm seriously considering doing. I've been out of college for 3 years now and haven't had any luck getting a government job (I majored in public administration in college and came close with the NSA right out of school but I failed the polygraph).

All I've done since graduation is sales and god almighty do I hate it. It's not what I was put on this planet to do.

I've spoken with several government recruiters and they've told me that being a veteran is a HUGE advantage when trying to get a job with the federal government. I've got my degree with a good GPA, I've got several years of professional work experience. So I feel like joining the military (most likely the Navy) would give me that final extra boost I need to get into the career I want.

Never thought I would even consider it, but it's looking like a real possibility now. Any advice or knowledge from anybody with any military experience would be helpful.

I only have 3 weeks experience but I can tell you this. The military will turn you into a different person. It will turn you into a better person. It's like a forge that creates and hones character. This because - which I noted while I was in it - it is based on concepts that are antithetical to modern civilian life: fellowship, trust, honesty, courage, and discipline for the purpose of physical and mental aspiration that benefits not only you but your comrades too. It's an experience which you can imitate but not fully replicate elsewhere. I'm thinking of rejoining myself and I can recommend you to do it. The only reasons not to are if you have something to do with your time already that inspires you more or you think it will be too uncomfortable/opportunity costly to your other pursuits.

You have a degree; you should be an officer. It's twice the pay for half the work, and better living conditions.
Yeah definitely. For all the good things about the military when it comes to creating character, it is a tedious pain in the @ss... if you can improve that aspect then you're ahead already.

Once you've served a hitch in the sandbox, Blackwater or similar will pay you 150k per year (untaxed) to stay there or go back. 2 years of that and you can retire in many a 3rd world country living very well. Like Chile, Uruguay, Philippines, Panama, Portugal.

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

This is an absolute bullsh1t idea. Are you fvking crazy? You are going to go and play soldier for a few months and when the time comes old obama or billary are going to send you to your death while turning your country into faggot ground zero. You think they give a flying fvck if you lose an eye or a leg? Absolutely fvkin not. Ask yourself why there are no government kids in the military, its because its an institution for broke people. Its better to have those fvckers out there getting their heads blown off then sitting behind a welfare line. Its a place for men to go and die.... 'for their country', sound good?

Be a cop or something for christsake, do some good in the world.. .the only thing you are going to learn in the military is how much bullsh1t and redtape there is between actually getting anything done. The military is for idiots and poor people unless you intend to be a pilot. Let the idiot white knights join up and go march off for their gf who is banging ghetto trash at home. You have a degree? Go get a good job, buy a couple guns, take some martial arts classes, join a paintball arena and practice up on your own time. When you join the military, they own your ass... there isn't any quitting, the military run by a bunch of b1tch ass women tells you to go sh1t in a corner, you are gonna do it. The miilitary butch that gets the promotion over you because she has a set of tits is going to be sending you into battle to fight the rapepocolypse... I mean are you nuts? You want to die for a bunch of pink triangles, white knight idiots and feminist *******s so that they can sit and ruin your country at home and then when you return call you an *******, while your buddy blows his brains out cause his 400 lb wife has been handing out free tickets for blow jobs???

This is the REALITY part of the military after the hollywood honeymoon ends. The military is a place to put stupid people to keep them from causing a disturbance at home. You will fight for money while earning next to nothing. You will not have any sort of freedom and if someone tells you to march around like a pansy, and dress up like a tranny, you are going to do it. When someone asks you to wear heels, you are going to respond: "how high sir?".

Being a PUA from a wheelchair is gonna be really damn difficult don't you think? You know there is a good movie on the military called MONSTERS 2. Its a sci-fi but its more about how sh1t goes down in iraq. Go talk to someone veterans who are suffering from PTSD or had their legs blown off because that could be you in a year.

Want some prep for the military, go get a bunch of dogs from a kennel, just buy them and go out to the country... feed them and play with them, get to know them for a couple hours. Then grab a hand gun hold on tight to one of the dogs you like and put a pullet through his skull. Do all the dogs the same way, chase down the ones you like the most and shoot them as many times as possible, try to hit them where their intestines will splatter on you the most, cover yourself in blood and guts and then look in the mirror.. Now get ready to do that to men, women and children. Most of my family are ex-military including my wife, we have some vietnam vets in the family and they all wish they hadn't gone. My grandfather fought in WW2 and lost his brothers and for what? What did we gain? Now gays rule over everything and straight males are being told they are useless cvnts. If the young men of WW2 could see into the future, I'm pretty sure they would have thrown their guns down and joined up with the Germans. Do you want to fight for a country that hates you?

Don't get swept up into the rah rah rah, that sh1t will wear thin real quick. You can retire in a 3rd world country working at Mcdonalds full time, I know, I've done it. Want an honest living? Get a CDL, you can earn 150k after 3 years and own your own truck, sleep in your own bed and travel as much as you like.

being a vet is easily worth a mllion $, but most can't cash in on it until they are older, and mostly, the "pay" is in poor medical care. Millions, tho, draw 1000's of $ per year for "disabilities", most of which are bs, especaially the "depression".

Oh yeah... LiveFreeX made me remember something quite important. Since you are in the USA, it's not just a career thing but you will actually go to war. And worse still it won't be for any good reason, but as a tool of the world oligarchy, fighting for them and against yourself basically. That is a strong negative. I stand by my point that the military is a forge of character which is rare in civilian life, but the negatives are adding up.

I think it might be a good idea since you have a degree and can qualify to be an officer. The Navy or the Air Force might be the best route to take since they offer better compensation and training which can transfer into the real world. And you won't be putting your life on the line (as opposed to the army or marine corp)....

HOWEVER, if you want to get into intelligence like the NSA, FBI, CIA, ATF or DEA, they almost always prefer guys with combat experience like the marine infantry or army rangers or swcc or SEALs.... the only problem is that if you go into these programs you could get seriously f_cked up since it's gaurenteed combat...

was in the marines for 3 years. Become and officer. The chair force pays the best, best chow hall's, best gyms.

Pick an mos that will be useful after you get out. Logistics. Aircraft maintenance ( if you choose not to be an officer).

You're age is fine. Especially if you don't go marines and especially if you don't go infantry. Infantry is very hard on your body.

It's a good choice to join.

I'd rather be a pilot if I could go back in time. Being an infantryman is useless after you get out, no one has use for infantry skills after you get out unless you go special forces.

Don't do it if your only motivation is to get a job. The only reason anyone should join the navy is because they want to be a sailor and live that life. With a college degree you can enlist in the navy as an E-4, but you need to be very careful with your decision.

What's it like in Navy?
-You will be out at sea for 6-8 months of the year on deployment. If you volunteer for the submarine fleet you may go months submerged without seeing any sunlight or fresh air.
-There are no days off on the ship. You will be working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. About every 3 weeks the ship will dock to resupply at a port somewhere in the world. While the ship is restocking you'll get a few days shore leave. This is where the travel aspect of being in the navy comes in.
-You will have no privacy on the ship. You will be eating, sleeping, bathing, and sh1tting in a berth full of other sailors.
