Hey guys, my current girlfriend of 6 months has a quite a well paid job.. she is an assistant manager for a retail company..

Currently she is earning more than i am.. in 6 months time she will be getting promoted to manager role of the company..

When this happens she will be earning alot more than me!!


Would you consider it a problem if your girlfriend was a higher earner than you?

Would this topple the balance of power in the relationship more in favour to her?

What potential problems could rise from this situation, or am i worrying over nothing here??

You are Definitely worried about nothing. Unless you are unable to get her to happily spend her money on making you feel good

Yes, it can be a problem but there are ways you can counter it. The obvious way is to simply work on your career and getting a higher paying job. Even if you can't get a higher paying job, simply being in a close range is fine. That shouldn't be your basis though. You should also work on elevating your SMV far above hers by constantly improving yourself through looks, lifting and looking like a million bucks even if you don't have a million bucks.

A woman with a million bucks would rather be with a poorer man with an alpha mindset who can get a million girls than a wealthy man with a beta mindset who can get zero girls.

I can't find the link but on the news, there was a wealthy asian man who worked in Wall Street, managed some big investments, went to Indiana University, had two MBAs from Columbia and Harvard, owned several companies. The guy was well padded. He started hooking up with a girl in one of his companies and basically turned into her sugar daddy. Unbeknownst to him, she had a boyfriend on the side who worked a dead end minimum wage job. He was basically a loser. In the end, the girl dumped the wealthy guy and accused him of "rape". Go figure.

Just continue working on yourself and improving your financial status. As long as your woman knows that you have an abundance mentality and your SMV is up there, you'll be fine.

No. Her salary is irrelevant. It can taint some women by making them feel like they are better than their man. That is simply a test of your frame. If she thinks her earning status means she doesn't have to submit, she is mistaken.

I'd recommend making more money. I make a lot more than your girlfriend who's an assistant manager at Target. For a woman to outearn me she's gotta be pretty darn ambitious and educated.

It can work in your favor in that you'll have to spend less to date her. I've dated broke girls and it wasn't fun.
