Need some ideas. Felt like everything was going great, girl seems eager, I call for tickets, and the guy cancels the show. Now I have this thing set up for tomorrow with this girl, and nothing to do. Its weird because if this was like a friends meetup thing, we would just not hang out at ALL because the show was canceled. Thats not the etiquette here is it?

There's another comedian about 40 minutes away. Maybe this was a blessing & I could make it a road-trip/overnight thing. I dunno.

But if anyone has some last minute awesome ideas from past experiences or anything, I'd love to hear them.

You bought two tickets for a comedy show. The comedian canceled the show and you got your money back. You apparently don't know what to do because the girl you're dying to out to the comedy show with won't be coming anymore because the show is canceled. If this is your first date, I suggest you go on a coffee date instead. Comedy shows are fun but unfortunately, the girl will only remember the comedian. Not you. Take her bawling, walk at the park, anything other than seating.

It wasn't typical seating, its restaurant seating with drinks served . . big casual environment. Always an awesome time, especially when you hit the bar inside afterward with karaoke and sh*t.

The girl will still come out, I just have to think of something to do. I guess we could just 'go out' and wing it at bars, but ugh. I'm probably just thinking too much.

I never really clicked with the dating-site examples for dates, ie, bowling, walks, etc. It sounds try-hard to me. And the coffee date . . What you just sit there and drink coffee? Why coffee? I never got that either.

Just go out and have fun, remember she needs to impress you as much as youre trying to impress her. You are the alpha-dog, act like it.

Coffee dates are good first dates to indicate whether the impression from the original talk-session is continued. It's low-investment, meaning that you can spend less than 5 dollars and you can get up and walk out at any time or you can make the date last longer by walking out together and go somewhere else.

It's a great start up point but I only recommend it for a first date type setting.

It can be anything between 20 minutes to an hour, which is awesome if you find out that behind that HB-9 is an HB-Biotch.

And I can't believe you can't think of a single thing to do.

Bowling?
Pool?
Drinks?
Mini-golf?

Just 4 right there, right off the bat.

Last date was a big concert and overnight stay at a 4 star casino where we partied our faces off. (All pretty much free).

Thats why something like bowling seems off to me. I'm thinking too big.

Doesnt matter. She texted me about the plans tommorow and I guess she was supposed to go somewhere else with 2 friends (guy and girl) previously, and she was trying to get them to go to the show. Meeehh . .

Good sign - she was ditching plans to do my thing.
Bad sign - she's inviting those people to my thing!!

Holy shyt...that reminds me I almost got to see Richard Lewis last year with 3rd row seats, but the bastard canceled his show!

As for your little dilemma, think of what she likes to do, and brainstorm some date ideas based off of this, and something that you'd enjoy too. Or if you have any interests/hobbies of things that she would enjoy, try something out.

For example, if either of you are into acting/drama, print out a play or a movie script and do a role play (pick a movie with good sex scenes ;))

If she's into animals, go to a pet store or a zoo and talk about the animals and compare them to her.

If she likes sports, try playing a sport with her that she DOESN'T normally play, like badminton, bowling, golf (GREAT opportunity to crack constant Tiger Woods jokes), football, etc.

If you wuss out and honestly can't think of any "mind-blowing" ideas, just go with the classic dinner and a movie date, if she likes you it won't matter at all. You can also play board games, which is fun because nobody plays board games anymore!
