This is how the conversation SHOULD have started. It's not about having alpha male things to say, it is about doing the alpha male thing and not wasting time on guys like these. With that "idk" you should have sensed that the person was just playing a stupid game. In this case it's not even about being alpha or not, it's about you not wasting your time with someone that doesn't deserve it.

The only way I would've had a conversation with someone that just said that was if he/she said something in the lines of "Hey, man, I was just playin' this is....." that's if I'm feeling like talking to that person.
