This post is on getting rid of late virginity, which I define as being past college age, or 25. If you're a virgin this long there are probably reasons. The common ones would be

1) Highly Introverted/shy
2) Religious upbringing
3) Health problems that prevented it

Also, for your reference is this thread:

Help I'm Turning into the 40 Year-old Virgin

For the purpose of this post, I'm going to assume that #1 or #2 was true.

First, go through the DJ Bible. It has a lot of good information on what's really happening with sex and sexuality. The core idea that it drives home is that there is such a thing as male sexuality, and there's nothing wrong with possessing it or expressing it. A couple of questions you might have if you have little sexual experience.

What's the quickest way to get rid of this virginity? Well, assuming you're willing to risk the STD and chance of getting thrown in jail, you can always get a prostitute.

DON'T DO IT. Easy is not the same thing as best, and you won't have really learned how to do what you want to do, which is establish a sexual relationship with a woman.
Is it hard to get a woman to have sex It's not hard. It's more like having to press a bunch of buttons on a computer in the right order. If you know the order, then sex is no problem, but until the seduction community arose, there was no way to learn this in an easy fashion.
Is it somehow demeaning to a woman to be interested in her sexually and to let her know?

No, No, no! This is one of the main problems involved in getting guys out of the AFC mentality. Basically, women like sex, as do men. For some reason, feminists have managed to make female sexuality into some sort of wonderful, ethereal, beautiful, spiritual thing, while male sexuality is supposed to be base, harmful and degrading. These are all lies. Sex is sex and it's necessary to continue our species. Nothing wrong with that.

What do I do to get rid of it the right way then?
I'm defining "the right way" as being able to meet a woman, express sexual interest, and progress to the actual act of sex. This can happen in a relationship or in a one-night stand, as long as it's consentual. This is what you want to aim for.

Since I don't know what level you're coming from, I'll assume that you're very shy. If you came from a very religious background, you may need to deal with the negative beliefs and attitudes about sex first, then deal with the shyness, if any.

The DJ Bible and other sites outline a the "newbie quest", which is the first thing you do to get out of shyness. You go into a mall or crowded place and say "Hi" to every woman, regardless of age, or looks. You don't have to have a conversation, just pass by, make eye contact and say "Hi" until you've done this about 50 times and it gets old.

Next, it helps to develop yourself. Read the DJ Bible about fitness and fashion, and start working on them, while you develop your situational comfort with women. Even as you are, there's some woman somewhere who wants to have sex with you, so start paying attention to the clues. Take this post as a general outline, all the specifics are there on this site and in the DJ Bible if you search for them.

Work on your conversational skills. Do this by sarging and also by sitting down and thinking through what you want to happen when you're talking to a woman. What she'll say, and what you'll say.

If you keep this up, you will meet a woman, and you will get laid. One advantage Mature men have over their younger counterparts is that they have access to older women, who are less reserved about their sexuality, who are more mature, and due to their declining looks, are less picky because they more rarely receive invitations to relationships.

Some movies you might want to check out to help you develop the appropriate mindset:

The 40 year-old Virgin
Deliver us from Eva
Hitch
The Tao of Steve

Keep in mind that Hollywood movies always end with the male lead going AFC. So pay more attention to what they do at the beginning of the movie than what happens at the end*

*In The 40 year-old Virgin, the main character stays AFC throughout, but some of the supporting characters are DJs and it at least runs the gamut of the dating experience.

Some more questions that turn up with this issue.

Should I tell her that I'm a virgin?
No. Don't tell her, especially if she's over 30. You can say something like "there were 2 or 3", or don't even give a number, but don't say that you're a green as day virgin. After you've had sex it won't matter anyway.

Where should we have sex? How do I set up the situation?
If you read the DJ Bible, this wouldn't be as much of an issue. Watch your frame of mind though. If you're thinking, "we're going to go to my/her place and F! then your actions will telegraph it and the woman will get scared. You're going to have a fun and relaxing evening, and enjoy the opportunity to have sex if it arises. That's the attitude you convey externally, even if in you're mind you're thinking 100 miles an hour.

Make sure you have protection in a discreet but available location. Don't put condoms in plain sight on the coffee table, but if you have them in a drawer or behind a book, that's okay.

I'm afraid to buy the condoms
The societally sanctioned way to buy condoms is to go into the drug store, buy something you don't want, like beer or soda, and get the condoms with it. Then act all gruff and serious when you purchase them. heh heh.

Look, if you're really worried, you can order them online.
online drugstore
How do I put the condom on/stay up/perform/etc

You should practice using a condom beforehand. For detailed answers on sexual performance, you should go to a sexual health site that can provide more detail.
here
Should I do it with a fat/ugly chick just to get rid of my virginity?
This answer may be controversial, but I'd say yes. The sooner you give yourself a success and get rid of the dreaded virgin label, the sooner you can move on to developing real sexual and seduction skills

Kudos for your post, but I disagree with you on the hooker thing. No way is banging a fat girl going to give you more sexual confidence than an attractive hooker.

I'm a firm believer that if you haven't lost your virginity by the time you've hit 18, you should get a hooker IMMEDIATELY and get your first time over with, so you'll see its not a big deal, and will have some sexual confidence when dealing with women you meet in college (if you go to college after high school).

Really, even starting a couple years earlier would be beneficial, like 16. Of course that's not PC to say, in this culture, where politicians are throwing 30 year old women in jail for sleeping with their male high school students (what a JOKE). Those women should be given congressional medals of honor, not jail time.

peace

Me...
1) Social Anxiety Disorder
2) Software Engineer

I had all the cards stacked against me...I've had opportunities to get laid, but 1) screwed everything up and 2) limited my opportunities a lot. Now, I feel like I'm over 1)...but I need to get out more and meet women.

Social Anxiety Disorder/ Introverted/shy, they're all the same thing.

It's crazy how modern psychologists categorize any normally occurring problem like shyness as a disorder these days, but that's a different post--

I want to reiterate that I strongly discourage the use of prostitutes to lose one's virginity. You shouldn't have to put yourself at risk or break the law because of something simple like sex. The only place you might be safe would be Las Vegas, where it's legal and they're required to get tested regularly. A misdemeanor conviction for soliciting a prostitute could really hurt your career, though. Any serious job you might apply to has background checks and they can find out.

The other thing is, this isn't about releasing your sperm in someone else's orifice. You can buy a simulation toy from a porn shop or mail-order if that's all you need. More important is that you go about developing the social skills that go along with getting laid. You'll always feel better if you earn something, rather than if you just buy it.

I think a good responce can also be: "Look, I don't have any diseases, or any children, or stalkers you need worry about. Let's not get hung up on a number."

Of course if you are too dodgy it may get her worried.

Initially I was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder...then it was changed to social anxiety disorder...but anyway, I know what you mean. However, I use to have severe panic attacks when I was in certain social situations...it got to the point where I had trouble breathing and needed to get away. It was pretty wack! So...I think my situation was a bit more severe than just being shy.

I need to get laid...and the ****ed up thing is that I turned down a recent opportunity.

I agree.

I took me a while to get over the hump, and I'm not over it completely. I was 24 years old and in college when a fat chick I knew jumped on top of me, whipped it out and then...

Needless to say, that was my first sexual experience and it wasn't all that to be honest.

I had all the issues, health issues, religious upbringing with the associated guilt that goes along with it, software engineering/computer background, shyness, and the first attempts to talk to women led to utter humiliation back in high school. It takes a lot of work to get over that, but it's possible with diligence.

The problem with the religious guilt thing is that even when you have opportunites to have sex with a woman, the guilt kicks in and the ability to perform then goes out the window. Getting over that takes more than just reading an article and knowing certain things intellectually, there's a little more to it than that.

I'll tell you what I said with mine, and it worked. She asked how many I'd been with, and I answered, "Well, I won't get into a lot of detail, but it's more than one and less than ten." And I was a virgin, but I at least knew that I was better off not telling her.

She was satisfied with that answer, whether she believed it or not.

She tried to ask more questions, but I defused them by acting annoyed. We could have a whole post on pillow-talk game, but the general rule is keep it to a minimum.

The thing you have to realize is, when a woman asks you how many she's been with, it's a test to bring her a sense of comfort. She wants to know that you're not on the extreme of being a super-player, or a socially deprived virgin. So the important thing is really how you answer it more than what you say.

In The Game, by Neil Strauss, on the bottom of page 218, he says, "This is the only time you're allowed to lie."

My problem (aside from meeting eligible women, shyness, etc.) is the fear I have of making the woman I'm with uncomfortable because my penis is curved "down" when I'm errect. If it were curved up I'd have absolutely no worries, but down seems like it would put pressure on parts that wouldn't feel all that great.

I've seen 2 guys (porn) that have the same shape as me but they're hung like horses and it seems like they aren't rock hard when they penetrate (more flexible). There's no way I wouldn't be hard as a rock when doing this, especially for the first time. If I had a normal **** I would've gotten laid at age 16....Well, I could have regardless, but my fear stopped me from taking it forward. The sad part is there isn't anything wrong with my **** it just grew that way and it works fine.

Any suggestions?

Absolutely, sad but true.
:(

And it's NOT just about being a virgin or not. Everything being equal elsewhere, engineering guys have less experience with women in general.

1) They have been with less women than other guys.
2) The women they have been are much less attractive than the average
3) If they are in LTR, these relationships always seem to last forever not necessarily because they really love the girl (number 2 is one of the big reasons) but because replacement is hard to find
4) Overrall, most engineering guys could have better/more if they were not in engineering fields.
5) Worst part: the non-engineering people rarely understand engineering guys' pain, assuming that it's just their nerditude.

Having switched from engineering to marketing more than one year ago, I know what I'm talking about. It's like day and night. Me being the same me.

If you are going the DJ route don't fvck fat/ugly girls. You will always remember FUGLY no matter how many women you will fvck after that.

Work on yourself first and your problems and you should be able to land a decent girl for your first time.

interseting point, but not surprising. Those who excell in this line of thinking seem to have basic social Inadequacies. i am in the engineering field, and have had to re-evaluate how I socialize with people in public. With some work, i've done fine. It seems to me that most could change for the better should they be willing to do so. Alot of people are set in their own stubborn ways, even if it spells failure for them time and time again. A willingness to step outside of ones comfort zone is what causes positive change often, and the older people get, It seems the less this happens.

That shouldn't even be an issue, don't worry about it, you're worrying yourself sick over literally nothing.

Been working on the switch myself and it is exactly from engineering to marketing as you. I'm hoping to get a job to do some marketing soon.

Sad but true.
