ok so this relates to "Cosine law"

^ = to the power of

78^2 = 130^2 + 100^2 - 2(130)(100)CosA

I need to find out what A is...

Answer: A = 36.8

[I need to know the steps to getting the answer plz!]

And i need it ASAP

just out of interest, is this equation correct?! i have no calculator with me, so i maybe wrong, but to me it's:

78^2 (i don't want to think how much it is) = 900 CosA

that is

CosA = 78^2/900

a Cos can't be greater than 1 and that division is fore sure more than 1

where did you get 900 from?

here, let me spoon feed you

78^2 = 130^2 + 100^2 - 2(130)(100)CosA

=> 6084 = 16900 + 10000 - 26000cosA

=> 6084 - 26900 = - 26000cosA

=> - 20816 = - 26000cosA

=> cosA = - 20816 / - 26000

=> A = cos-1[-20816 / - 26000]

=> A = cos-1(0.8006153846)

=> A = 36.8

q.e.d.

got it, i thought it was [...] - 2(130)(100)]CosA

anyway, i suggest that you should stop doing the know-it-all... you just sound like the nerd who always gets picked on by his classmates (no offence intended, just an advice)

On an isosolese triangle the sum of the two sides squared is equal to the third side squared.

Ps. Stop asking for homework on here.

Vincent...

Just wondering...doesn't "Anything Else" include everything except "else" (which is referring to the subject of this site...DJing)? Anything that exists is included in everything...so doesn't "Anything Else" include homework help? Maybe you should change the name of this section if we truly aren't allowed to post "Anything Else".

While we're at it, lets start a Homework Help section where willing AFCs complete our homework assignments.

No it doesn't. Does it say "Hey here's a fun place to hang out with your friends for homework help." Sure doesn't, so don't assume you can just post whatever the hell you want to in here.

BOW TO YOUR SENSEI!!!

*bows*

Anyway..."Hey here's a fun place to hang out with your friends for homework help" is implied when you use "Anything Else". Maybe you should close the thread or ban me for being logical :rolleyes:. Judging from your reply, that would be the logically illogical thing for you to do.

I'm not gonna get into it with you but imagine if everyone made a post asking for homework help how annoying this place would be.
