Fit foreign women with slob husbands?

On vacation and have noticed quite a few very good looking and fit foreign women with slob husbands...fat, out of shape and ugly.

Is this more common in foreign countries than the US?

It's common in Latin America. I've seen plenty of couples who look like Salma Hayek and Danny DeVito.

I want to say most were European...the one specifically i noticed was German
