I just bought a bottle and it says to stay away from calcium. How the fck am i gonna do that, cheese and protein shakes mixed with milk are a huge part of my diet. Does anyone know if i should just take protein shaked early in the day. Would i be able to pull this off? ZMA is a night time supplement taken before bed. Hope I get some feedback thanx

I'm assuming your bedtime meal has calcium, so just take the ZMA 30-60 minutes before that and you should be fine. Just don't take it with the calcium or before the calcium has some time to digest.

Leave the calcium out of your last meal. 'nuff said.

Some bodybuilders go so far as to say that ZMA is a ripoff. It's really the Zinc and Vitamin B6 that are important; the Magnesium isn't really needed since Mag. deficiency in bodybuilders is rare.

The idea is you buy Zinc tablets (gluconate or picolinate > chelate) separately and much cheaper than ZMA. Same effects. You get your B6 through multivitamins which you should be taking anyway.

Not totally on-topic, I know, but it might save you some money in the future if you find that Zinc / B6 supplementation are just as effective as ZMA. Use whichever works for you...

im not too worried about the price unless it is outrages, plus Im taking ZMASS which has alot more crap in it. Another question is that sometimes i fall asleep out of no where so I have trouble timing this supplement. Another thing what would happen if I take this supplement about 30 minutes after eating. Would this have a negative effect?

He says that because zinc is a vital nutrient for sperm production. IMO, i agree with logical optimist. ZMA is a complete ripoff when you can simply buy zinc + a B complex. BTW, these supps are terrific for lowering DHT.

I'm not speaking from experience no, but for a while I wasnt seeing the usual people I see at the gym when I was there... A few weeks later, I see them, and they tell me they've been going out of their mind with their new diet and ZMA.

They had to get up later in the mornings [no pun intended], jump out of bed, and hit the gym before anything else otherwise all they'd do is sit inside with a porn collection for half the morning and then be late for work :p

I agree about the magnesium though.. I dont quite think it's all that amazing to be supplimenting it aswell :)

i coincendntly just got some myself... i figure as long as you dont have any milk products within 2 hours of going to bed you should be fine. i dont think a protein shake/milk combo is that great before bed anyways.
