There are a couple old threads about this, but I wanted to make a new one. :)

I've seen people mention this a lot recently around here, so I'm interested. I've read that some people say it's a ripoff and you should be getting zinc, b6 and mag through other supps and diet anyway. Other people claim it's great. Some people say the magnesium isn't necessary. What's the real deal on it? Also, any particular kinds of zinc, magnesium and b6 you need to get instead of just getting actual ZMA tablets? Does the dosage have to be exact?

I've got a bottles of 250mg Magnesium, 50mg Zinc Gluconate, and 100mg B-6. What should I do.

Zinc and magnesium are essential minerals for lifters. There have been tests run on weightlifters (the only research I trust since it is relevant - and Poliquin himself ran these tests) and unless they supplemented, they were deficient in these minerals. Zinc is also important in maintaining/increasing testosterone levels.

I don't buy 'getting these minerals through diet' because there are just not high enough concentrations in food.

Zing, magnesium and b6 is the classic ZMA formula you can take 30-60 mins before bed on an empty stomach. It should improve sleep quality.

The actual ZMA tablets are expensive yes and you can buy the supps seperately and get the same effect. the formula is 500mg magnesium, 30mg zinc and 10mg b6. (approx)
