Ive been taking zinc now for about a month or 2 and I gotta say thats the best thing ever for having energy and keeping the sex drive up. They say you only need 15 mg but I take 45-60 a day and I'm always full of energy and have a high sex drive. :woo: Gotta love it!

Interesting.

I take Zinc because it's good for the skin and helps keep a good complexion. I had no idea about the sex drive thing though.

I'll start taking more of it, thanks for the heads-up.

Fyi, too much zinc is harmful...Or so it says on the label.

There was a study done in Turkey on zinc and its effect on testosterone levels. After about a month, the guys who lifted and supplemented had 'significantly higher' test levels than the ones who didn't. Source: [Neuro Endocrinol Lett. 2006 Apr 29;27(1-2)

I got my zinc yesterday :).

PS: I'm going to be taking 100mg/day - 2 tablets.

Some food for thought.

Precautions While Using This MedicineReturn to top

When zinc combines with certain foods it may not be absorbed into your body and it will do you no good. If you are taking zinc, the following foods should be avoided or taken 2 hours after you take zinc:

* Bran
* Fiber-containing foods
* Phosphorus-containing foods such as milk or poultry
* Whole-grain breads and cereals

Do not take zinc supplements and copper, iron, or phosphorus supplements at the same time. It is best to space doses of these products 2 hours apart, to get the full benefit from each dietary supplement.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

So I shouldn't take it right after my oatmeal?
I'd take it before bed. I think zinc is beneficial to REM sleep and you wouldn't be eating any of those bread type products before bed anyway.

I had all of that yesterday. :( No zinc for a while for me.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

150 mg spaced throughout the day. I took a 100 in the morning, then read that absorption is inhibited after eating oatmeal and such, so took another 50 later in the day. Then I started feeling tired, dizzy, and had some serious chest pains. Like my heart was hurting or smth. 2 days ago, I went to a metal concert and got a nasty cut on my side, so I thought I might have picked up some funk from someone, but I'm fine today.

How the hell am I supposed to take 15 mg if the tablets each have 50?

Take 1 tablet. 50 is fine, it's not as toxic as other nutrients. If you want only 15, usually multivitamins have that much.
