We see the terms "9s" and "10s" being thrown around a lot. I think we all have some idea what those are. Those are the cream of the crop. But where it gets a little confusing is when people talk about 5s and 6s. Some people seem to think 5s are ugly. I personally would rate a plain Jane as a 5: not ugly, not particularly hot.....just completely average. A 5 to me is in the 50th percentile of attractiveness.

A 6 wouldn't make me turn my head and I probably wouldn't even notice a 6 in a crowded public spot but she'd be more attractive than most. A 7 would be noticed if she came near my line of sight. An 8 would get my attention. A 9 would be a girl that pretty much everyone would agree is quite attractive. A 10 has supermodel/actress type looks. These tend to be quite rare.

Edit: TBH let me tell you what I can tell you. 1-6 I don't care about.

To me taste and colors can't really be argued but can only reach a mutual point (some times we might all think that a girl is hot, Our tastes don't really matter anymore)

Like this one time there was a girl who was a total 9 for me, first time i saw her my jaw literally dropped and then my friend came and said "wow this girl should put some weight on, definite 7 for me" i was shocked, she was not that skinny and had a heck of a round bumpy butt, very nice curves with a nice C cup, beautiful eyes, curly hair and a heck of a smile. I thought he was blind but later he showed me what he thought was a 9 and i was not digging that. Tastes and colors

I can see how it could be confusing. It's not a linear scale where a 10 is twice as hot as a 5. I look at it this way....

5 -- Quite chubby. You'd only hit in a really long dry spell.

6 -- Average and ok if you really bored.

7 -- Cute

8 -- Hot

9 -- Hawt

10 -- Drop dead

The highest I usually go is an 8. I'll bump up or lower the rating if their personality is cool or not. I've seen 5s and 6s jump to 8s and 9s just from their personality.

Looks don't mean ish if she's a b1tch.

6.5-7.5: Fairly attractive, but doesn't mean I want to bang every woman in this category
8-9.5: Very attractive and very bangable

1-6's are irrelevant to my mating game and 10's don't exist imo.

5 - Average. Just a plain jane.. Maybe a little chubby.. I really think a 5 can easily be a 6-7 based on the way they dress and present themselves though.
6 - A tiny bit better than average, bangable but really not worth going out of your way to meet or spend time with.
7 - Kinda cute, seems like an interesting girl. Approachable, but prefer to look for hotter girls first.
8 - Hot, but I believe an 8 can easily be a 9 depending on their outlooks and personality.
9 - Hotter, she's intelligent too.. Has a great social life and has a lot going for her.
10 - Beautiful. Intelligent, and great social life, in shape, positive outlook on everything, is very feminine, close to her family, has passions and goals.

The only girls I really feel like spending time with are 8 and above. If a 7 gives me any trouble, it's an instant next. Actually, it's like that for 8's too. 9's and 10's are the only ones I will give second chances to. If they mess up, then it's a next.

This is the scale I use:

1-4 are just different shades of ugly. These girls are undoable.
5: I might consider doing a 5 in a moment of weakness, but when it comes right down to it, I won't really do it. She's almost cute, but just doesn't quite cut it.
6: Cute, but not gorgeous. Doable.
7: The average "pretty" girl. Girl next door type, for example.
8: Better than average looking, exceptionally attractive
9: Megahottie. The most attractive looking women.
10: There is no such thing as a 10. It exists only as an ideal of perfection by which other women are measured.

Or, to break it down into binary scale:
6-10: Doable
1-5: Not doable

0 equates to me not being interested and 1 means I am interested.

This HB scale is complete and utter nonsense to me as it contradicts a lot of what is said on this website.

The HB scale puts women on pedestals in my opinion, I was taught by numerous articles on this site not to do that, yet those same men are raving on about how they scored with an HB9 and she was great etc.

Just my 2cents.

When I was younger I used to have a cool system with the boys:

T - For Tits
B - For Body
and then up to 3x+ or 3x-

To describe a girl, mainly via texting/writing.

You could give her a small t, capital T or and T with ! Same goes for Body.

The interesting thing was + or - which could relate to anything from face, amount of makeup, eyes, seduction, personality and sluttyness. You could quickly convey a decent (not really) picture of a girl to your friends!

Example.:
A blonde with nice tits and a decent ass, but a terrible drunk, cute face and maybe slept with two guys you know would go something like this:

TB--

TB for decent tits and ass, - for blonde (personal preferance), - terrible drunk, ++ for cute face and -- for having slept with two guys you know.

A decent lay, but not someone you would want to hang on too!

1 - Dont go there (although I have on occasion...)
2 - Desperate Measures
3 - If Im horny and dont need to work for it
4 - If I dont need to work for it.
5 - Average (in most departments)
6 - A potential ay
7 - A potential date
8 - FB
9 - Girlfriend Material
10 - Wife Material
11 - Soulmate (haha, get real)

Of course, these all include several factors besides looks and style, such as personality, does anal etc.. Still havent found that 10, but hey keep fishing!

10 - I try not to give them out, I don't like convincing myself that a girl is perfect, although theres a couple that have come close thanks to their personality.

I can see where you're coming from. And if you look at my scale, there is no such thing as a 10.
But as an INTJ personality, I can't help but want to categorize things.

I am a bit perverted and use 0-10 scale with 0 being no erection can be achieved to 10 instant bonner. It doesn't reflect looks sorely, just something I particularly like physically, as well as personality/attitude. So, I would say it is a scale made up of several different ones. Basically, I just go by how much of tingling is happening in my pants. To report about someone's looks objectively I would just use the conventional scale as above.

Also like someone else said a girl can be really hot but be a b1tch or have a sh1t ass personality in which case she is fugly despite her looks.

I'd personally take a "cute" girl with a kick a$$ personality over some hotter girl that lacks modesty and is a b1tch or crazy or whatever.
