Hey, I've been an avid reader of these forums for awhile now and I just felt the need to post after seeing the recent influx of "Does she like me?" and "What do I do now?" posts throughout the forums:
Another day slowly passes while you spend time reading through these forums. Many of you have probably read the DJ Bible several times through but have yet to apply most, if any, of the knowledge contained in those pages. Why is that? What is it that is holding you back from trying? For some of you, it may be fear. For others, it may be a lack of motivation. However, it ultimately comes down to one source - yourself.
If you have found this site, you are already on the road to improvement but have a long way to go. Whether a heart wrenching breakup or sheer luck brought you here, you have access to pages filled with information that will not only help you achieve success with women, but with all facets of life. Still, several of you continue to read post after post but do nothing. The fear of the unknown causes you to refrain from acting or you simply do not “feel” like doing it.
Fear: a four letter word that keeps you within your comfort zone. As a result of fear, you complacently go though your everyday routine never doing anything differently. Sure, you may be avoiding risks but ask yourself if you are truly happy with your life. If you are happy, you may disregard this post and continue to live happily within your own little world. If not, I implore you to continue reading.
Each of us has experienced fear in our lives. Although fear causes us to act in some situations, most of the time it keeps us from acting. Your fear of rejection may keep you from approaching that hot girl in your class or the one working at the mall. By avoiding the approach, you may have saved yourself a bruised ego, but you will never know what really would have happened if you had talked to her.
On second thought, why are you letting some insignificant person’s opinion have an effect on your actions? Reflect on that for a moment. Her opinion means nothing - You do not even know her! So why does it have such a drastic effect on you? The answer is once again found in yourself - insecurity. Your own view of yourself is stifling you.
If I tell you that the answer to overcoming fear is letting go of your insecurities, a lot of you will just groan in frustration. You’ve heard it plenty of times before, but rightfully so - it is the foundation for overcoming fear. Believe in yourself and eventually others will too!
So where do you start? Take a look in the mirror and write down everything you wish to change about yourself that you can change. You’re too fat? Hit the gym. You have acne? See a dermatologist. Your humor sucks? Hang around people who are naturally funny and learn from them. There are several posts in this forum that touch upon self-improvement so make sure you read them. Reading is not enough though - YOU MUST APPLY! Otherwise, you will never get anywhere.
So you’ve read all the posts and still haven’t found the one that will lift your sorry ass off your seat and make you go out and suck life dry? Well, I hate to break it to you buddy but you are just wasting your time. The ultimate post that you are waiting for will never come - you are just using that as an excuse to continue sitting on your ass doing nothing. You’re just afraid (or lazy). Remember, only you have the control to change yourself for the better. The posters here can only bring you so far - it is up to you to do it.
If you’re still afraid, give it a shot anyway. You have absolutely nothing to lose. The next time you see that hot chick wandering around and you’re thinking about approaching, stop thinking and go approach. If you stop to think, doubts will cloud your judgment and fear will keep you from acting (“OMG what if she screams at me or slaps me in front of everyone? I‘ll never live it down” ). There are more important things to worry about - remember, this is a game and you cannot expect to win them all.
Aren’t you tired of being fear’s *****? Grab your balls and just do it. Go out and make new friends or find a job. Do something productive with your life - you only have one to live. Fear is just an excuse that people use to make themselves feel better. Stop living a lie and be yourself - better yet, be your best self. Accept the things you cannot change and do not waste time worrying about them - just work around it.
I have brought you this far and the rest is up to you. This could bring about a new beginning in your life. Choose wisely - a bruised ego is more worthwhile than a lifetime full of regret.
