Okay, I have been doing a solid toning program for a good 8-10 weeks. I am down to about a 32 inch waist, I want to get down to 28, why, dont even ask me, I just like it like that, you got me?

Okay, I find that getting up and doing cardio before I eat in the morning works better for me, and I also eat right too. I dont count my calories or nothing, but my diet is basically, yayas chickne, vegetables, fruit snacks, water, power bars.

My upper abs are great, any body know some good information on the lower ones. I do exercises like the laying down one, I do the one where you lean against the thing and bring your legs up, but I need something better or something that actually works this lower abs.

I mean, 32 inch waist is not really good, to me anyway, but at least my lower abs should not be moving or should at least be showing by now.

anybody, got any suggestions for ya boy,

one.

Well working your abs is good, but it is not going to decrease waist size, if anything it may increase it has the muscles bulge, and get more ripped and enlarge. But that is a good thing. Lower your body fat healthily if you want a smaller waist. As far as your lower abs, the lower body fat will help them show as your upper abs generally show first. Your can do hanging leg raises, where you hang and with stiff legs, bring them to the front and side to side. Also you can do bicycle crunches. You lie on your back, with legs up in the air, as if you were sitting in a chair(knees at 90 degrees, shins parallel to the ground). Then put your fingertips on your temples, then cross your right elbow to your left knee, but never let you shoulder blade touch the ground after you start. You should move your legs as if your riding a bike, but always so the opposite elbow/knee touch. Do this for as long as you possibly can, probably a minute or more. This seems to help my lower abs.

Hanging leg raises as above and weighted crunches are all you need for abs - to make 'em show you need to lose more fat, pure and simple (you lose fat from the upper abdomen first, hence why the upper abs show before the lower ones) - a combination of diet and cardio will get you the coveted sixpack.

If you do ab workouts without a fat-loss program, your waist size will increase.

Doing ab exercises are just going to build your ab muscles under the fat. You need to do some type of extended cardio where your body will go beyond immediate energy sources and start using your stored fat. Diet will help if you are on a low carb/low fat regimen.

That means that you could do the first cycle of either Atkins or South Beach. You'll get your body into a ketosis state and will start burning more fat as energy. Balance that off with some real cardio week and you will not need to stay on the cycle more than a couple of weeks or so.

Fat around the lower ab area is usually the last to go. Ab exercises only help to firm up the abs, but it wont help you to lose the excess fat around that region. Stick to your diet until your body lets the bodyfat go.

Swimming is a good exercise with no stress on your joints, and highly enjoyable.

Go down to the beach, do 20 minutes HIIT swimming with proper pre- and post-workout nutrition, then just splash around for a while and have fun. :)

As for how long .. experiment and find out!

How would you do HIIT swimming in the sea?

Same way I'd do it in a pool!

Swim around for a few minutes for a warmup or whatever, then an all-out breaststroke or whatever you want to do (I count the strokes for timing), then swim around (I actually water-walk half the time) or whatever until your heart rate decreases, then another all-out burst, etc ..

Haha, I guess that would work to get your heart pumping hard. I swam competitively for more than 10 years and find swimming in surf to be insanely difficult.

point of HIIT is to get your heart-rate up to 90% or so, and hold it there for 20-30 seconds and then letting it drop again.

You could do HIIT tap-dancing if you wanted.

pant size and waist size are different... I wear 32 size pants, but my waist is 35 inches at the illalic crest, and 36 at the bulge... and my 34 size pants are loose enough to need a belt.

Don't know anything about the effects swimming has on bodyfat. I've also thought about trying this myself.
