Well it seems like last work-out day I ****ed up my wrist. It doesnt hurt very much, but still...

What would you guys do in this position:

1) Go to the gym as normal, hope wrist doesnt get worse and gets better eventually

2) Take a week off, and **** up your training program

3) Go to the gym normally but do lighter weights till the wrist gets better, and hope it recovers till next week

I'm leaning towards (3) myself

Give it a rest.

Go to the gym. Do legs one day, some cardio the next. Abs the next. What ever... Just give your wrist a break. You don't want to permanently injure yourself...

In this Economy?
i just have been having wrist problems too.

what excercise was your wrist bothering you?

mine was the french press(skull crushers) and the upright rows( shoulder)

while i am now doing some rehab for my ankle the dr. does ultrasound for my ankle and now does it for my wrist.

i went heavy for 2 weeks ignoring the pain and it was not good.

but after having her do it once my wrist was back to normal now i think ive had it done 3-4 times and am almost positive its back to normal

also they sell ace bandages to keep your wrist snug

Hey, i hurt my wrist about two weeks ago when i worked too much weight too soon on curling. I'm wearing a velcro McDavid wrist brace now. Not only do i wear it tight when i lift now, i wear it throughout the day, and it seems to have made a difference. I also took about five days off from curling, and when i did get back to curling, i started into it by not maxing the weight like i did before.
Also, instead of just grabbing the curling bars at the gym, i started curling with the machine, which seems to make my wrists hurt less.
But dude, you better back off and let it heal. I asked my powerlifter friend his advice, and he said, "if i could go back in time and do everything over, i would stop or slow down when i got an injury, cause i just tried to work through it, and made it worse, and it took longer to heal."

It actually bothers me when i do almost anything involving my arms.

But it seems I hurt it in a shoulders/legs day, so it might have been lateral raises or upright rows.

Well what i did today is try and work around it, that is do stuff that didn't hurt.

Had Chest/triceps day, so i did a lot on the fly machine (which used no wrists) and some DB presses (was much better than benching) for chest, and DB overhead extention and some diagonal one-arm cable pull for the triceps.

I'll see what I can do for back-biceps...

depending on how bad the pain was:

i have hurted my wrists twice, once was from doing a wrist bar curl too fast with normal weight, I ignored it and it lasted for 3 weeks.

second time I hurt it with skull with heavy weight, and I took cuation and it is back to normal today after 8 days with light to normal weights.

the second time was far worst than first time but with cuation, it healed faster.

my advise, take 3-4 days off, then do light - normal weights, that is what helped me to a speedy recovery the second time.

aslo be SURE to do alot of wrist scretch before training.

buy a wrist brace, and put ice on it while watching t.v or other leisure activity. O yea, and take a pain killer before u work out. should go away in no time. One thing that has been bothering me is this thing called carpal tunnel syndrome, i have no idea how to get rid of it.

I got to thinking and up-right rows hurt my wrists. So, I don't do them. There are other exercises that you can do... Everybody's body is different.

Update:

Got messed up tendon, haven't done anything but Legs for weeks and its gonna take a bit more time with wrapped up hand

Lesson learned: if you feel discomfort doing an exercise, stop! better give it a week of rest than lose a month due to injury

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

Back when i started doing dips, i would get this every week, but not anymore. I never took time off because the pain usually stopped on the next day. However, if yours is still hurting, let it rest or risk serious injury.
