i used to have a bowflex and i did all my workouts on there (yeah i know its bad...and i kinda figured that once the maximum weight was becoming too easy already). well, since i had no other type of equipment (the bowflex was my mom's bf's), i had no choice but to resort to the damned piece of sh*t bowflex... (either that or pushups -_-)

anyways, believe it or not, although it was just by a little bit, i've gained some mass through bowflex and diet (lots of help from diesel's bulking guide.). today, while i was about to go workout, i had found that the bowflex has disappeared...!!

my mom's bf is moving out and i guess all his stuff is gone already...so no more bowflex. my little sister, 9 years old, is home all day and so am i while my mother works. that makes it impossible for me to be able to get to a gym all day.

now i have nothing. all i have are a bunch of servings of protein powder left.

NOW...

my question is...

if i decided to just start doing pushups for the time being until i find a possible way to start hitting up the gym (which may be a very very long time) , would i be wasting my time? is it worth it?

also...

is it worth taking my protein supplements and eating that hardcore diet even though i'm not working out with the big man weights?

thx for the responses ;)

Maybe I'm just callous because of my upbringing, but your sister is 9. It's not like she'll burn the house down if you leave her to go to the gym for 45-60 min.

true... :\

but my parents are strict and i doubt they'll let me do that...

plus, getting a ride to the gym and back is also a hassle...along with the money, so im trying to see what i can make use of right now.

time to get resourceful:

get empty gallon jugs of water/milk.... you can fill them with water - or half way depending on how strong you are... you can also hall fill with sand/soil and water to make even heavier...

- use for
- alt db curls
- lateral raises (front, side, rear)
- db pullovers
- db flyes
- lunges
- db rows
- db tricep extensions
- hammer curls

put on a backpack full of books - use that for squats or for walking up stadium stairs

do pullups and pushups and don't forget the ab-work and you should be OK.

hope that helps,
D

just wondering,
what would you be doing pullups on in the equipmentless home?
you can buy a bar at a local sporting goods store that you can attach in the overhang of a door.

You can do some dips with two chairs. Use one chair to support yourself and the other to prop your legs up on.

If you can get your hands on a few dollars go get some used dumbells.

Do a sh!t load of pushups. You won't be all big and sh!t, but you'll be toned up.
